Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 0 | 25 January 2024
God of New Beginnings,
Guide us with your spirit as we begin our new school year.
May we be aware of our talents and our gifts
And use them to be a light in one another’s lives.
May we realise how important each of us is and
help us to share the light of Jesus in our school and in the world.
Amen
Ondine Komnick | Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to the 2024 academic school year. All our staff are looking forward to seeing the children next week and have been hard at work preparing for their return to school.
New Families
We especially welcome families new to our school. You have joined a very special school family where our focus is on ensuring that everyone feels welcome and that they belong. Our multicultural community is one to be celebrated, as our diversity enriches the tapestry of this place. We may have many different countries of origin, languages and cultures at our school, but we are united in our humanity and drawn together by the person of Jesus Christ and the Gospel and Mercy values that are the focus and foundation of Our Lady of Mercy Primary School.
New Staff
This term we welcome several new staff to our school. I know you will make them feel welcome to our OLOM family.
- Amanda Neal - Pre-Primary Teacher
- Jay Bui – Year 5 Teacher
- Sandie Summers – Auslan Teacher
- Rebecca Curel – Virtual EALD Teacher
We also warmly welcome back Mrs Emily Cleasby from parental leave.
Drop Off and Pick Up Times
Please note a change in drop off and pick up times. Our staff will only be on playground duty from 8.15am so children should not be on school grounds prior to 8.15am. The gates will close in the afternoon at 3.05pm and any children not picked up by this time, will be taken to the office. While we understand that sometimes families can be delayed in picking their children up for unexpected reasons, we ask that you please ensure that you drop and pick your children up at the right times. Please note that the Koman Way and Basketball Court gates are great alternate options for drop off and pickup, and these gates will also open at 8.15am and close at 3.05pm.
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
God bless you.
Ondine Komnick
Principal
Classrooms will open at 8.15 am for the first day
