THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF IS ITS PACK
February 9, 2024
Wasco Families,
Parenting is hard. Currently, I’m in the process of planning a second wedding, and during decision making I carefully choose times to suggest, and when to listen. Sometimes it’s not easy for me to step back and give space for what the bride and groom are trying to create.
If you are wondering if you are doing a good job as a parent, I found some great advice in this podcast. It gave me suggestions about goal setting for myself and how to build in experiences with kids that make long term impact revealing your family values.
This week at school I shared a suggestion from the podcast as part of my announcements: “Look for kindness today. How are other people showing kindness?” My announcement practiced a tip from the podcast. As adults, the language and observations we share with kids direct them to notice the qualities. I am always learning and looking for ways to build those Wasco Expectations in our Wolves!

Goal Setting Recognition Announcement
In January, we spent time learning about and setting goals. Teachers were asked to recognize students that are able to identify their strengths and challenges and set goals to improve. The following students will receive a certificate and have their photo proudly displayed on our Goal Setting bulletin board outside of Mrs. Schroeder’s office. Please join us in congratulating:
This month our character trait focus is Self Management and Self Awareness. Self-management is the ability to manage one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in different situations and to achieve goals and aspirations. Self-awareness is the ability to understand one’s own emotions, thoughts, and values and how they influence behavior across contexts. Our Wasco Staff will be looking for students that are able to demonstrate these skills across their day here at school.
