Wrestling Spotlight
Girls Varsity Wrestling: Kate Prior
Kate Prior became the first lady warrior to win a state medal in Freestyle wrestling. She placed 3rd at 155. This is Kate's first year wrestling, and she left her mark. During the regular season, she finished second in the district and fifth in the region, missing states by one win. Early in the season, she defeated the girl who would go on to place second in the state, and she finished with the most wins and pins for our team. In the practice and on the competition mats, she elevated every lady warrior wrestler.
By placing at the freestyle state tournament, she qualified for one of the biggest tournaments in the nation: Fargo Nationals. Unfortunately, she will not be able to compete this year, but we are hoping to send her out there next year with more of her teammates who are working hard. Kate embodies the true warrior's spirit.
