CROSS COUNTRY
Over the past couple of weeks the Jr. High and High School Cross Country teams have competed at a high level and have had fantastic results. On October 4th They travelled to School of the Ozarks. With competition from 14 different schools the bulldogs showed the grit and determination we have come to expect. The Jr. High boys placed 1st in the team scoring and the Jr. High girls placed 2nd overall. Several runners from both teams received medals. The High School Boys and Girls showed up with an attitude of perseverance and took on the tough course and weather conditions with a smile. The boys team placed 3rd in team scoring. The girls did not field enough runners to receive team points but found success on the course bringing home some medals including a 1st place overall finish from Freshman Jessica Suit.
On October 10th, the teams travelled to Conway and competed at a high level. The Jr. High girls placed 1st as a team with several runners receiving medals. Annabel Snelson placed first overall in the race. The Jr. High boys collected some medals too and placed 2nd as a team. They were led by Aiden Thome. The high school boys placed 3rd as a team and had 3 individual medalists. The high school girls also had 3 individual medalists.
Overall, this program is on the right path as we enter the final stretch of the season.
Let’s go Bulldogs!

BASEBALL
Gainesville Baseball finished the fall season with a 15-1 record. They won the Conway Wood Bat Tournament and were able to get to host the Summit Conference Tournament. They were also Summit Conference Champions.
Some Notable Stats
- the teams ERA on the mound was 1.167 and held opponents to a .163 batting average.
- the team batting average was .315 - We rallied in 139 hits over the course of 16 games.
Hunter Luna (.649) and Grant Leeker (.840) led the charge on the mound but Dawson Hewett (.609) was a game changer for us. Those 3 combined for a 12-1 record, 2 saves. and 123 strikeouts. All 3 of them had sub 1 ERAs (actual ERAs are next to names).
Offensively Dawson Hewett led the team in batting average (.423) and hits (23). Grant Leeker led the team in extra base hits (8 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR).
The team has a lot of potential to make some noise in the Spring. If they continue to put the work in and challenge themselves then they have the ability to potentially bring home a district championship trophy.

FIRST GRADE
October has been a wonderful month of exploration and learning for our students in first grade! This month, our focus has been on pumpkins, where we delved into their composition and life cycle. The children enjoyed discovering how pumpkins grow from seeds to the vibrant, orange fruits we see in the fall.
To wrap up our pumpkin unit, we had an exciting trip to Mckenna Family Farms Pumpkin Patch. Students had a fantastic day filled with hayrides and engaging hands-on activities that allowed them to experience the joy of the season.
In addition to our pumpkin adventures, the students also had some creative fun with chalk during recess. It was a great way for them to express themselves and enjoy the outdoors.

THIRD GRADE
Third graders are ending the first quarter and wrapping up their first Math Module. In order to show their understanding of the multiplication process, they have created a visual that demonstrated multiple strategies to solve a multiplication problem. Students know the best approach is to memorize the multiplication facts, but they can also use number bonds, tape diagrams, or arrays to determine the total of equal groups.
