Congratulations to Keyla Ibarra and Stephanie Smith, the district's November PRIDE award winners for the classified staff category! We are very grateful that you are both Panthers!

Congratulations to Turner’s 3rd Grade Tackle Team. The team was comprised of Turner students, several from Oak Grove Elementary. They had a tremendous and successful season winning the KC Sunflower Association League Championship as well as being Regular Season Champions in the challenging and competitive The Rebirth League in Kansas City, MO. They dominated competition all season shutting out club teams in every victory. This group has now won three league championships in a row dating back to 1st Grade Flag. The future of Turner Football looks very bright!

Football and Cheer Registrations will open up again May 2024.

Congratulations to Jett Spencer who was selected for the 3rd Grade Kansas All-American Football Team and has been invited to the National Youth Football Combine, which takes place this coming February in Texas. The Kansas All-American team consists of some of the top youth football players in the state of Kansas and Missouri and The National Youth Combine pulls some of the top youth football talent in the United States. A 3rd Grade student, Jett Spencer played Quarterback and Safety for the KC Sunflower Association and Rebirth League Champion, Turner 3rd Grade Tackle Team. Way to go Jett!

Thank you, Turner Foundation for the new library bean bag chairs! Our old chairs could use some fluff, though. If you recycle plastic bags, please donate them to the library. I use them to plump up our older bean bag chairs.

• A student can have 10 excused absences in a school year for any reason before documentation is required to excuse the absence.

• Students receive 5 excused tardies per semester to school for any reason. Any tardy after 5 is considered unexcused, unless documentation can be provided.

• A student reaching 7 tardies to school counts as a day of absence.

• Missing 5+ periods counts as a full day of absence.

Best Practice:

• Call or email when your child is going to miss/misses' school.

• Bring in any documentation for an absence for your child in a timely manner.

• Documentation will not be accepted after the semester ends.

Big Smiles Dentistry is coming to Oak Grove January 11th and 12th! Permission slips will be sent home week of November 7th. Permission slips due back to Nurse Jessica no later than December 15th. Please fill out forms completely and parent/guardian must sign!

PTA loves being able to help Oak Grove each year with classroom grants, school equipment, special learning supplies, carnivals and events, etc. To accomplish this, we need the help of the parents, grandparents, staff and community to please join PTA so we are able to help our students and teachers and try to make this year feel as normal as possible! Hi Everyone! If you like doing art outside of school, you have a chance to design this year's Youth Art Month Flag for 2024! Note that Oak Grove Elementary School is only allowed to enter 25 entries, so make sure you meet ALL the requirements attached. Good Luck! I can't wait to see what you do!
