Every day, I meet with the entire student body at 8:20am in the gym. We recite the flag salute and sing a song. Then every day, I pose a situation to the students. Here is a glimpse of the week:
"Math Problem Monday" I share a math problem that students are to solve/discuss in class.
"Thoughtful Tuesday" I share a kindness thought/activity for the students to do/discuss in class.
'Weehawken Wednesday" We all wear Weehawken gear or colors, red & black. I share a fact about the DWS staff or the Weehawken Community.
"Think About It Thursday" I share a real life problem for students to solve/discuss in class.
"Fun Fact and Feel Good Friday" I share a whimsical fact and "feel good" phrase to share throughout the day.
My goal is to build a strong, school community and build character skills. If your child has been late to school on a regular basis, they have been missing this great experience. Let this be a motivation to start the day earlier and get to school on time to be part of this experience.
