Message from the Principal
I hope this newsletter finds all of our Hebron students doing well. This newletter contains a lot of information that is important to know moving forward with our on-line learning.
We are now into our final phase for on-line learning. Phase 3- April 13 and on- We will no longer be doing mailers at this time. We will be sharing grade level newsletters through the district Portal, email, and the teachers communication method. Hebron teacher's plan to either use Remind or Dojo. The work from this point forward will be using our on-line resources such as STMath, Zearn, Lexia, and Raz Kids (K-1), and Epic Books grade 2, in addition to pencil and notebook paper activities. Your child's teacher will be providing more information.
Each grade level has created a google site that has all of the links to the on-line resources in one place. What you can expect is a maximum of 80 minutes of on-line learning a day with about another 30 minutes for practicing sight words and your child's writing assignment.
Below is each grade levels google site. I have also included next week's assignments under each grade level's site.
All of this information can be found on the portal as well.
Also, each year we consider many factors when placing children in homerooms. Because we want to provide the most positive experience for all students, and because we value your input regarding your child/children, we ask that you complete this form by Friday, April 24. Your insights, along with those of teachers/administrators, will enable us to make the best possible decisions together. There is a link below that we would like you to fill out called Student Profile for Class Consideration. Thank you for your time in this matter.
Please stay healthy and safe.

Lexia Core 5 Information
Below is the link to get to Lexia. Your child's teacher should be contacting you with the user name and password.
The first time on the program you will need to enter a teacher email. This is the email your child can use:
The user name is most likely your child's first name and last name with no space.
Password: hebron
The first time your child get's on the program they will take an auto placement test to determine their level. It's important that your child does this on their own with no adult help.
Your child's teacher will be monitoring this, and the expectation is to complete 12 units a week, which takes about an hour total.
If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher.

How is my child being graded?
We were very purposeful in the work we have assigned your child to do on a weekly basis. It is vital that your child work each day on the resources we have provided. If your child does not do the minimum minutes each week it could be very detrimental to their progress when we return to school.
Report cards will include comments on what your child accomplished during this time frame. For example, our goal is that your child completes their grade level of STMath which would be 100% completion. A comment will be made on the report card to your child's completion.
We appreciate your support in ensuring your child is meeting their weekly minutes on these on-line programs, as well as, their writing assignments and mastering their sight words. This work is critical to ensuring their success for moving forward once school re-opens.
If you were notified on previous reports cards that your child may be considered for retention, you may be getting communication from us to set up a time to discuss next year. It is critical that your child be doing all of their assigned assignments.
This is what it looks like when you go to the Portal and Click on Hebron
Below are the links and work you can also find on the portal.
Wellness with Weaver-Our School Counselor
Hi Parents!
I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. Don't forget to check out my resources for you and your children. I added a website in the comments of my YouTube channel that I would love for you to check out. I'm also going to include the website here on the newsletter. You can sign up for free right now. It has a lot of good information on empathy and kindness and other character traits.
Here's the website: https://go.charactertree.com/free_home_access_for_students
Don't forget you can email me if your child wants to meet with we one-on-one on Zoom or if you have any questions. Take care and I miss you all!
Mrs. Weaver
Zoom Information
You may have seen news stories about security in Zoom and so-called “Zoombombing.” Most of those stories explain that these problems are avoidable. Please know that our teachers have received training that includes hosting Zoom sessions securely. If you or your student(s) receive a Zoom meeting link from a teacher, please do NOT post or share it publicly (e.g. social media).
