Weekly Recap
This week was filled with hands-on learning and creative problem-solving! In Math, students tackled hidden 2-step problems, showing their critical thinking skills. In Robotics, they worked on building multi-gear systems, mastering the art of making one input control all three gears. Over in Sewing, students practiced hand stitches and even crafted adorable felt donuts!
A huge thank you to all the families who attended conferences this week. We are grateful for your continued partnership and for the opportunity to connect about your child’s progress. Your support truly makes a difference!
And now, let’s go Chiefs!
This Week in Character Strong - Lesson 13
7th Grade: Real Life Respect: Creating Caring Environments
8th Grade: Happiness Mythbusting
Family Character Dare: Hour by Hour
Plan a family date night or day together. Have each member of the family plan 30 minutes to 1 hour of the date!
Each person gets to own their portion and then you can all work together to figure out how to fit all the pieces into 1 agenda for the night.
Water Only
We have noticed an increase in students bringing energy drinks and coffee to school. Please remind your child that outside food and drinks are not allowed.
In addition to school policy, energy drinks and excessive caffeine consumption can negatively impact students’ health, leading to:
☕ Increased heart rate and blood pressure
⚡ Difficulty focusing and disrupted sleep patterns
😓 Anxiety, jitters, and dehydration
To support a healthy learning environment, students will be asked to dispose of any outside drinks found in hallways or classrooms. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and focused.
National Counseling Week
We are incredibly grateful for our Student Services team, who play a key role in helping our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. A big thank you to Mrs. Oliver, Mr. Laird, and Ms. Nelson for everything you do for the Indian Hills Community!
Artists of the Week: Harper Freund & Jorja Schnurr
Instructional Spotlight
7th grade science students modeled the rock cycle using Starburst to explore sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Big thanks to Ms. Hudson, Mrs. Hoehn, and Ms. Johnson for creating such an engaging, hands-on lesson!
Spring Testing Schedule
Please see the dates in the image for Spring Testing. We would appreciate your support in making sure your student(s) have a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast prior to testing. We will send more information in the weeks prior to testing to help provide clarity and support in the testing process.
