Ingredients
- 3 cup strawberries
- 2 medium bananas
- 1 medium lemon
Instructions
1. Slice strawberries and bananas.
2. Put the strawberries and bananas on a baking sheet in the freezer for an hour. To save this step, you can make up pre-portioned out bags ahead of time so you can just pull out a bag when you want to make your sorbet!
3. Once the fruit has been in the freezer for at least an hour, put it in your food processor or blender along with the lemon juice from one lemon and process until smooth – scrape down the sides when you need. The sorbet will be soft serve style texture right out of the blender, or you can put it in the freezer to firm up for a bit if you want.

How Can I Help My Child Learn at Home
All fourth quarter Family Curriculum Guides have been added on the Klein ISD website for grades K-8 for core content in English and Spanish. These documents include the following topics:
What will my child learn during the third quarter of school?
Questions to ask your child
How can I help my child learn at home?
Tools for success
Technology Available for Home Use
The student dashboard houses all the apps below and your child can access them from home.
- IXL (grades 3-5)- Specifically targets your child's learning gaps. This was determined using a pretest. We purchased this digital resource with funds raised from our fundraiser. Thank you for helping us personalize learning for every student, ensuring growth and success at all learning levels!
- Amira (Literacy development)- AI-powered reading tutor designed to improve literacy and foundational skills. Amira tailors its support to meet your child’s individual needs, which is why it’s important for your child to complete Amira activities independently.
While it might feel natural to want to assist your child during these sessions, providing help can unintentionally affect the results. Amira works best when it can accurately identify areas where your child might need additional practice. If an adult provides answers or guidance, it could skew the results and miss opportunities to fill in critical learning gaps. Use 10 minutes a couple days a week.
- Lexia (Literacy development)- Encourage your child to use Lexia consistently for 15–20 minutes a couple days a week to reinforce skills.
- Waggle (Math)- Helps students strengthen their math skills. Encourage your child to use Waggle regularly (e.g., 15–20 minutes two times a week) to maintain steady progress and reinforce learning. Recognize and celebrate the milestones your child achieves in the platform to boost confidence and motivation.
Kuehnle Tardy Procedures
We want to thank you for your continued support in ensuring our students are ready and prepared to begin their day on time. As a reminder, the school day begins promptly at 8:10 AM. Students arriving after the tardy bell rings at 8:10 AM will be marked tardy.
Additionally, any student arriving after 8:30 AM must be accompanied into the building by a parent or guardian to be signed in. This policy helps ensure the safety and accountability of all students.
We encourage all families to plan ahead to allow enough time for morning routines and traffic, so students can arrive at school ready to learn. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in supporting our school community!
Lunch Visitors Clarification
To ensure a safe and structured environment, only a student’s parents, grandparents, legal guardians, or family may visit and have lunch with their child.
Students may not have lunch with another student’s parent, grandparent, or guardian, even with parental permission.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
School-Aged Lunch Visitors
We truly appreciate seeing our former students, but we must firmly request that intermediate and high school students not visit Kuehnle during lunch. Attendance is crucial, and we wholeheartedly support the initiatives of other campuses in this regard. If a student is unable to attend their own school due to health issues, it is important for them to stay home for their own well-being. Our priority is to ensure the health and safety of all our Koalas.
Birthday Snacks
**Please note the update to the End of The Year Birthday treats. There will not be any Birthday treats the last week of school due to inventory depletion. Please plan accordingly.
Klein ISD permits parents/guardians or grandparents to supply birthday snacks for their child’s birthday through the Klein ISD Food Service Department. Please email our food service manager at dyoung1@kleinisd.net for more info and a list of items available.
Birthday snacks will be distributed for the entire class at the end of the lunch period, after students have had a nutritious meal as defined by the School Lunch Program and Texas Department of Agriculture.
Written consent from a parent/guardian must be obtained before a student will be permitted to have a birthday treat. (Sent in the 1st day packet.)
Two weeks notice is required for ordering birthday snacks through Klein ISD food service.
Print this form and return it to our Kuehnle food service manager, Mrs. Young.
