Autumn Prayer

O God of Creation,

You have blessed us with the changing of the seasons.

As we welcome the autumn months,

may the earlier setting of the sun

remind us to take time to rest.

May the brilliant colors of the leaves

remind us of the wonder of your creation.

May the steam of our breath in the cool air

remind us that it is you who give us the breath of life.

May the harvest from the fields remind us of the abundance we have been given and the bounty we are to share with others.

May the dying of summer's spirit remind us of your great promise that death is temporary and life is eternal.

We praise you for your goodness forever and ever.

We began our new virtue this week: Industriousness.

Industriousness is diligence, especially in work that leads to natural and supernatural maturity.

The opposing trait is giving in to a lack of motivation to complete one's responsibilities or being lazy.

Ways to cultivate industriousness is diligently completing a task and set small goals along the way.

Industriousness Looks like and Sounds like:

Ages 6 and up--- work to complete your duties; "Let me finish this first"

Ages 10 and up--- diligently complete a task; set small goals along the way

Ages 12 and up--- work diligently, especially in things that lead to natural and supernatural maturity.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have given me the gift of this day, the gift of this moment. Help me to use my time well. Give me the grace to do all for Your greater glory. Amen

Scripture: Nehemiah 4: 15-17

We are going to be doing Family Folders. We understand not all families have printers and/or computers at home, so we have decided to send some forms home in paper form. We will not be sending home all paper copies, but some of them. If there is a flyer in the newsletter that you would like printed off and sent home, please let us know and we can send it home. The first Family Folder will be sent home today with the oldest student in the family. Please look over the information in the folder and return the folder to school.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the office.

As a school we will be praying the Rosary on Friday, October 15th. Please send a Rosary with your child on that day. We will have extras if they do not have one or forget.

Trunk or Treat is Tuesday, October 26th from 5:30-7:00 P.M.

Information was sent home with the oldest student on Monday, October 11th.

Registrations are due by Friday, October 22nd to the school office.

The 2021 Soles for Catholic Education Walk offers Catholic schools the opportunity to raise funds towards a specific fundraising goal that will benefit students at their school. Schools will hold local community events to celebrate Catholic education, as well as give back to their local community through various service projects. HOLY TRINITY SOLES FOR EDUCATION EVENT

We will be doing an all school walk on Thursday, October 28th.

We will begin our walk at 10:15 A.M. Families are welcome to join us for our walk. If you want to bring strollers or wagons for the younger students, you are welcome to do so. If you would like to join in the walk, please let the office know. After the walk we will have an all-school lunch at 11 A.M.

Home and School is having the Christmas Wreath and Poinsettia Sale. Forms will be sent home in the Family Folder. Please contact Amanda Gall or Courtney Gruber with questions.

Attached is the Lunch menu for October 18th-29th.

The Lunch Program is looking for HELP. This is a paid, flexible position.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are open for dishwasher 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you are a new or existing Holy Trinity School parent interested in volunteering or attending field trips in the future for Holy Trinity School, now is the time to consider doing the steps to volunteer. All volunteers are required to meet three requirements: attend a Safe Environment session, pass a criminal background check (no cost to you), and sign the Code of Ethical Standards. Due to COVID-19, all Safe Environment education training sessions are conducted virtually. Please remember that the mornings have been a lot colder and students should have proper attire at school. See the attached document for what is worn outside depending on temperature.

Fire Prevention Week was October 3rd-9th. Students in 3K and 4K had a visit from the firemen and fire truck. Students in 5K, 1st, and 2nd grade walked to the Fire Department to have a presentation. During the school day students learned about fire prevention in their classrooms as well! Check out the pictures below from Fire Prevention Week!

We are seeing a lot of colds and allergies throughout school. Please be mindful when sending students to school. If they have two or more symptoms they should not be coming to school. Remember to also CALL IN your child if they will not be at school. Phone calls to the SCHOOL OFFICE should be made instead of emails.

COVID is starting to appear more within the schools and county. We are doing all we can to keep students in school for in-person learning, as that is our number one goal.

More information will be sent regarding COVID mitigation protocols.

Have you ever felt like no matter how many people that you had near you, the only one who would comfort and understand you would be your mother? We are so lucky to have this comfort in our Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus and mother to us all.

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

Here at Holy Trinity, we teach the children to look to Mary for her example of faith and love as the mother of Jesus and to be our mother too, calling on her to guide us as our earthly mothers would. The Rosary offers a simple way to meditate on the life of Jesus as we pray. The school children enjoy this time when we recite the Rosary together or when they get a chance to meditate alone. The Blessed Virgin Mary is present with each in our prayers and meditations.
