CELEBRATIONS
Great things are happening at WCS!
Today was our kitchen chef, Melissa Sweet's final day with WCS! We will miss her positive energy, sense of humor, and dedication to our students. We wish her the very best in her new role at BMS!
SPRING SPORTS
PTA NEWS
The PTA will be hosting our monthly meeting on March 12th at 6 PM in the WCS library, with special guest Mr. Libby! We will be discussing the upcoming Eat the Rainbow week and a few other events we have coming up. If you would like to see what we're all about, we would love to see you there!
NEXT WEEK: READ ACROSS AMERICA
Next week we will be celebrating Read Across America with a full week of activities. There will be daily reading-themed trivia on the morning announcements with the chance for students to win prizes. We will also be sharing our love for reading with daily dress-code themes (See the photo below for the list of daily suggestions.)
CHANGE FOR GOOD
Thank you to all who donated to the Pocket Change for Charity coin drive! This year, Ms. Culley's 4th grade class donated the most money and earned the right to display the giant "Purple Penny" in their classroom! In all, the school donated $533.54. That turns out to be over 97 pounds of change! WEIGH to go!!
CHEWONKI VISITS THIRD GRADE
Third grade students were treated to a Chewonki live animal presentation about animal adaptations this week. They saw two live Madagascar hissing cockroaches, a blue tongued skink, and a groundhog named Tilly. The kids were fascinated by the presentation and were full of excellent questions. Thank you to Chewonki, and to our fantastic PTA, who support this and so many other educational opportunities for our students!
