Weekly Bulldog Bits

Attention parents/guardians!!! Students need to wait to get out of cars at the loading area or wait until a staff member gets them out of the car at drop off. The loading/unloading area is clearly marked with signs and we need to work together to get everyone to school safely. Please remember the Valet Loop is only for the grades 1-5; TK/Kindergarten must be walked to the gate.

Also, parents/guardians are not allowed past the school gate. If your child needs a forgotten item please bring it to the front office. All volunteers must check in first before coming onto campus. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to maintain a safe campus.

A big thank you to all the Bulldog Families that joined us for back to school night. We are so happy to have this opportunity to meet with you and share important information for the school year.

Bring your favorite morning beverage and come and learn about Hirsch Elementary and the opportunities we have for both parents/guardians and students! We will begin at 8:30 am in the MUR. Our kindergarten yard has a new look! We would like to thank our Bulldog families who helped to move our kindergarten shed to its new location!

We are looking for parents/guardians who can attend all 4 of our School Site Council meetings this year. We need 5 volunteers. Our meetings are Mondays: 10/14, 1/27, 3/17, and 4/14 from 3-4:30 in room 18. At our meetings, we discuss school data, school goals, review progress on goals, and generate feedback/ideas/comments on how Hirsch spends its small allocation of special funds from the district. Please email me if you are interested, along with your child's name and room #. Thank you to those parents who have reached out already. I will be following up with all who volunteer next Wednesday/Thursday with additional details.

Fremont Robotics Academy:

Weekly FLL Challenge Classes will be offered at Hirsch to 4th and 5th grade students. Classes will be held Wednesdays from 5:15 pm to 6:45 pm, beginning September 11 and ending October 30th. If you would like to join please use the Google form to sign up.

Hirsch Chess Club update:

Registration is now open. We are using cheddarup this year for both signup & payment.

We hope the proximity & familiarity with the school environment and the opportunity to nurture your child’s interests in Chess will once again bring you back to the tournaments this year. Like last year we will have a single registration link for the entire year. If you register before 9/9 your child will play all 8 tournaments. If you join later your student will play fewer games. This year we will be accepting only card payment, no cash. Please register before you show up to the tournament!
