May Crowning
The May Crowning Mass, an annual tradition, is set to take place in Spillville on May 9th. We cordially invite you to join us in this joyous celebration dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mother. The Mass will commence at 9:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus, led by eighth-grade students who will crown Mary. First Communicants are encouraged to wear their First Communion attire and offer flowers. Following the Mass, there will be a blessing of First Communion Gifts. Additionally, we will take a moment to acknowledge the dedicated service of select staff members and bid farewell to Thiet, expressing our heartfelt gratitude for his contributions to our school and parishes.
St. Teresa of Calcutta School is delighted to honor our staff and thrilled to announce Teacher Appreciation Week, taking place from May 6th to May 10th, 2024. This year, our theme is "Teachers are Shining Stars!"
Under the theme of "Making the world brighter, one student at a time," the school community will spotlight the crucial role teachers fulfill in molding our children. As they consistently exceed expectations, both inside and outside the classroom, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering dedication and efforts.
Ideas for STUDENTS/FAMILIES to show appreciation:
- Write a thank-you note to your child's teacher.
- Give your child's teacher a gift card to their favorite store or restaurant.
- Volunteer your time in your child's classroom.
- Donate school supplies to your child's teacher.
- Say, thank you to a teacher who made a difference in your life.
First Communion Weekend May 4 & 5
Jesus presents Himself to us in a distinct manner through the Eucharist. When He arrives, we welcome Him into both our physical bodies and our spiritual essence. This experience is profoundly beautiful, personal, and intimate, and we must never underestimate its significance.
That's why the initial reception of Holy Communion by each First Communicant marks a wonderful occasion for the entire family. The child undergoing preparation for this sacrament is about to experience a profound union with Jesus unlike any they've encountered before!
It's a sacred and joyful event where our souls unite with Christ. This act of celebration is a testament to our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. A special "thank you" goes to Leah Knutson, Christina Teslow, and Kristi Creek for preparing our youth for this special occasion.
8th grade Graduation
We warmly invite you to partake in the celebration of our 8th-grade class graduation on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to join us for Mass at 6:30, followed by the graduation ceremony. Refreshments of punch and cake will be served at the rear of the church. We look forward to sharing this special moment with you.
