WMS Halloween Costume Guidelines
👉Reminder- Note sent to students regarding Halloween Costumes
This year at WMS we are going to allow costumes on Halloween (Tuesday, October 31) because this falls on a school attendance day. Here are our guidelines:
If you are going to wear a costume, I also expect that you have come to school ready to learn on Halloween.
All costuming must happen at home. That includes any hair or make-up.
With make-up, we need to be able to know who you are-no full face make-up.
The costume must be school appropriate.
For students, there are no masks or inflatable costumes allowed.
There can be nothing that you carry around that is extra. (ie. props, fake weapons, scythes, clubs, dolls, etc.)
Teachers are expected to teach that day, though they may have Halloween themed lessons. And yes, you will be changing for PE.
There will be no Halloween parties. Or candy. Or other treats. Because you will get enough junk at night if you trick or treat.
After Halloween, you can only bring a couple of pieces of candy per day. If you bring more, I will get it and I will eat it. And I don't need any more candy. And throw away your wrappers in the garbage, please.
👉COMFIES DAY November 1st - dress comfortably, in pajamas or lounge wear, but still school appropriate!
Things to Note:
Grade Level Socials
The Grade Level Social is an annual event put on for each grade level to give kids in that grade level an opportunity to have fun in a school sponsored event after school. Students will come right after school and have can do a variety of activities. These activities are basketball, volleyball, gaga ball, cornhole, watch a movie and dance/listen to music. There is no cost to this event and students do not need to sign up. They just go to their pod area to hear expectations on the day of the event and come down to gyms after watching this video. Students will also have the chance to get a snack and water. This is something parents can help donate to by donating a snack or water. Also, we would love a few parent volunteers to help pass out snacks. Sign up to help out in either of these two ways is attached to this.
Saints Helping Hawks (SHH) canceled 10/31
SHH will be canceled on Tuesday, October 31st (Halloween). Students should take their normal transportation home on this date. It will resume on Thursday, November 2nd.
Health Office Wish List
Please consider sending in an item from the Health Office Wish List. On occasion, students visiting the WMS Health Office need more than an ice-pack or a bandage. We keep a limited supply of additional items on hand for emergencies, but need to replenish our stash. Any donations can be sent to the Wredling Main Office labeled for the Health Office.
