I'd like to thank the teachers and parents for supporting the children this week at Parent Conferences. This is not only an opportunity to find out more from the teacher, but also a chance for our learners to talk about their own experiences, goals and challenges, together with all the adults who matter most in their education.

As always, if you have any concerns or sensitive topics you would like to discuss at any stage (teacher to parent), you can make an appointment to do so if and when needed at another mutually-convenient time.

Always an event with no shortage of 'cute factor', we enjoyed perfect weather today during Junior Cross Country - it was great to see the littles ones giving their best and modelling their favourite 'activewear'!

Congratulations go to all our runners, who set themselves a target and worked hard to achieve it on the day. For our younger children, we can certainly say that everyone had a 'win' they could celebrate as they crossed the finish line.

Finally, this week has been a celebratory one in many other respects thanks to Matariki, which has been woven through the week in classrooms across the school.

The themes of looking back, acknowledging the past, but with optimism for the future have been very much in evidence, and the children have enjoyed so many opportunities for learning, reflection and coming together with their whaunau and community, which is - after all - the fabric of all we do here at school.

All the best to all our families for the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone return on Monday for the last week of term.

• PTA Second Hand Uniform Shop open (8:15am - 9:15am)
• Term 3 New Entrant cohort's second visit and Parent Information session

Friday 5th July:

• Term 2 Ends - School Holidays (3pm finish)
• PTA End of Term ice block sales $2 (3pm - 3:30pm)

We will be clearing the lost property at the end of term so please look carefully at the photos. There is a very large pile of school fleeces. We do our very best to return all named items to their owners, so please use these school holidays to check and name all uniform items.

On Saturday 7th September we will be hosting our annual parent social event - details to follow.

Can you help with Auction Prizes?? As part of this event, we will be running an online and live auction to raise funds for MENPS. We are on the hunt for prizes to include in our auction - if you are in a position to donate any auction items (this could be goods, vouchers for services, an experience, a weekend escape to a bach, etc!) then we would love to hear from you - menpspta@gmail.com. All donors will be promoted to the community, via the online auction platform (Galabid) and through event promotion. Thank you for your support!

Did you know that some of Yummy apples stickers are worth 2 points? Buy and enjoy these lovely new apple varieties, Lemonade, Ambrosia and Sweet Tango and DOUBLE your points. Stickers from these varieties can be put on the side of the Collection Sheet that has a picture of trees. If you don't have a Collection sheet, head to the office to get one or collect stickers on a blank sheet of paper.
