"Wee Deliver" Returns in May
Dear Parents,
Symmes Elementary is participating in the exciting program put out by the U.S. Postal Service called "Wee Deliver." This program is designed to provide children with real-life experiences through participation in an intra-school post office. The Symmes Post Office will be run by the students in Mrs. Wuebbolt’s third grade class during the month of May.
In order to make this experience as real as possible, your child will need to buy a stamp to send a letter. One original stamp design drawn by a Symmes student will be used in the Symmes Post Office. The stamps will be sold for a penny each.
It is possible for parents to write a letter to their children during the time the post office is running. Parents can send in a penny with a completed letter with the child. The classroom teacher will ensure that the letter gets a stamp and is placed in the mailbox.
There are three main ways you can help us. First, we would appreciate it if you would give your child the opportunity to earn the money he/she needs to purchase his/her stamps. Second, please encourage your child to write letters. Finally, please send in extra envelopes and/or stationery.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the PTO for covering the cost of printing the stamps.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wuebbolt

Dear Fourth Grade Parents & Guardians:
The fourth grade students will participate in the growth and development class on May 3rd. The boys and girls will attend the class separately. The class includes a basic study of the changes related to puberty. The girls class will be presented by Julie Ferron, Symmes School Nurse. The boys class will be presented by Mr. Pierce and Mr. Perry, Symmes 3rd and 4th grade teachers.
The class overview and DVDs will be available on our district Nurse Canvas site. Here is the link https://sycamoreschools.instructure.com/courses/4435#home. Please take time to look at the Growth and Development Overview Parent Presentation. The Canvas site provides the videos, Powerpoint Class Overview, Common Questions, and a Reference List of popular books covering this subject. If you would like your child to not participate in this class or have any questions, please feel free to email or call me.
Sincerely,
Julie Ferron

The spring session will kick off on Wednesday, April 10th!
