As we move into February, we have some exciting events ahead! Kindness Week is coming up, and we look forward to celebrating the many ways our students can show kindness to themselves, their peers, and our community. With February vacation around the corner, we hope everyone finds time to rest and recharge.

With all the winter fun, we kindly ask families to remind students about safe and respectful play in the snow at recess. Snow creations are temporary, but kindness and respect last forever!

Our friends from Patriot Goose Control are back and keeping our grounds free from geese. They will be around outside of school hours, including weekends!

In January, following our district’s assessment schedule, students in grades K-3 will participate in a series of literacy screenings (DIBELS). These assessments offer important insights into each student's current literacy skills, growth, and progress since the September benchmark screenings. The results will help us identify students who may benefit from additional support in specific areas. If a screening suggests that further assistance is needed, your family will receive a letter in early February outlining the steps we're taking to support and monitor your child’s progress. We will continue to assess their development regularly and adjust instruction as necessary to meet their needs. If you do not receive a letter, it means your child is performing at or above the expected level. While scores will not be sent immediately, teachers will reach out if there are any concerns. As always, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher with any questions

Please read the above link with snow information. We have already struggled to show up with appropriate gear, ready for the elements. Please have a conversation with your student about throwing snow and recess expectations in the snow.
