School Wide Information
AVID Info Meeting- Interested in joining AVID? Join our info session on March 6th at 3:30PM via ZOOM. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is designed to support and assist all students to succeed in a college preparatory path for admission to universities and colleges. Our goal is to provide all students with the essential resources needed to be successful in rigorous courses and to promote an awareness of the significance of higher education, as well as the limitless opportunities for their futures.

Summer Dual Enrollment- Irvine Valley College (IVC) and the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) are excited to share the IVC/IUSD Summer College program for summer 2024 at IVC. Made possible through funding from the City of Irvine's Measure BB, the program will run from June 13 to July 26, 2024. Current IUSD 9th–11th graders and incoming 9th graders at Creekside, Irvine, IVA, Northwood, Portola, San Joaquin, University, and Woodbridge high schools will be given an exclusive first-come, first-served opportunity to enroll in any of the CSU- and UC- transferable general education classes listed on the IVC/IUSD Summer College Class Descriptions page and earn early college credit. Once classes are filled, students are placed on a waiting list. Class registration begins April 29, 2024. Students need to be enrolled into the program before registering for classes. Angels Baseball Fundraiser- Let’s play ball! IVA ASB is hosting an Angels Baseball Night Fundraiser for our San Joaquin community on Saturday, April 27. Tickets are $20, and $5 of every ticket goes back to IVA ASB! Come out to join us, bring your family and friends, and enjoy a rally monkey giveaway and Saturday Night fireworks! Transportation is not provided. To purchase your tickets, you can bring cash or check to Creekside High School. You can also purchase your tickets online using this link (There is a $1.38 fee that applies if you select online purchasing). Tickets are on sale starting on March 1 through March 29. Tickets will be available for pick up at Creekside High School in April. We look forward to seeing you at the game!
Physical Fitness Testing- We will be administering the physical fitness test (PFT) for students in grades 7 & 9 on Monday March 4th at 1:45pm at Creekside HS (Sweet Shade Park) 3387 Barranca Pkwy Irvine, CA 92606 All California schools use the FITNESSGRAM® test. The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity. Please refer to the parent guide for answers to key questions about the physical fitness test. Testing should take approximately 1 hour to complete.

Multicultural Night Interest Form: We are looking forward to hosting our 2nd Annual Multicultural Night on Friday, March 15th from 5:00-7:00PM at the Learning Center. Want to host a booth, participate in a performance, or join in on our fashion show? Please fill out this Interest Google Form by Friday, March 1st.

FREE MENTAL HEALTH TRAININGSFOR IUSD STUDENTS: LGBTQIA+ Youth Mental Health. Many teenagers who identify as LGBTQIA+ face anxiety and fear of rejection as they navigate their identities. Asking for support and guidance can be even more challenging. Learn about key terms, skills, and resources to take good care of yourself and be an ally to others. IUSD Family Counseling Center- Under the Department of Mental Health & Wellness, the IUSD Family Counseling Center offers a multidisciplinary approach to mental health and support and wellness for children, adolescents, and their families. Click HERE for more information.

High School Progress Grades- Parent portal is now open for parents and students to view grades. Parents will log on to their portal account at https://my.iusd.org
Financial Aid Workshops- We are offering both in person and virtual financial aid workshop listed HERE to get support and complete your 24-25 FAFSA. Click HERE for more information and the zoom link to join the virtual workshops.

State Seal of Civic Engagement- The California State Seal of Civic Engagement, marked by a gold seal on the diploma or transcript, recognizes high school graduates who have demonstrated an understanding of civic knowledge; civic skills and action; quality student reflection; and student civic mindedness. To qualify for the State Seal of Civic Engagement, California high school students in their junior and senior years must:
1. Be engaged in academic work in a productive way;
2. Demonstrate a competent understanding of U.S. and California constitutions; functions and governance of local governments; tribal government structures and organizations; the role of the citizen in a constitutional democracy; and democratic principles, concepts, and processes;
3. Participate in one or more informed civic engagement project(s) that address real-world problems and require students to identify and inquire into civic needs or problems, consider varied responses, take action, and reflect on efforts;
4. Demonstrate civic knowledge, skills, and dispositions through self-reflection; and
5. Exhibit character traits that reflect civic-mindedness and a commitment to positively impact the classroom, school, community and/or society.
Here is an overview video and the State Seal of Civic Engagement Interest Form - This is to gather initial interest in students who may want to apply for the seal at Creekside and IVA.
ITA Scholarship- We are excited to share with you the annual ITA Scholarship for 2024. The Irvine Teachers Association will choose one winner from each high school. The deadline to apply is March 8th and the application is available HERE.
IUCPTA Scholarship- IUCPTA $500 High School Scholarship Application -Now Open! Apply by April 19th, 2024 (Must be a current student PTSA member)
