WPC WEEKLY NEWS 11-13-24
POINTS FROM THE PRINCIPAL
- Parking: Please be sure to only park in legal parking spots or designated areas. We are still getting reports of a car (Florida license plate) that is parking in an area that is not designated for parking, making it unsafe and difficult for those parking legally to pull out of their spots. Please be cognizant and respectful of others.
- Day of Giving: Our annual Day of Giving is less than two weeks away. Please help us "give" back to our community! Our PTO will be reaching out for volunteers to help deliver items and resources around town. Our staff will be working with our young scholars to ensure they are learning the "why" behind what we are doing and how they can make an impact at their young age.
- Absences due to Travel: While this time of year is when we see an increase in absences due to travel, we understand families will travel throughout the school year. If your child(ren) will be absent for travel, please complete the google form so we can plan ahead. Sometimes we are not notified until the day of and need to verify why a student is absent. There will be a button/link below on our Weekly News so you can easily find it when/if needed.

AROUND THE CLASSROOMS
- Mr. Dan's Class: He shared that...."This November, we are going to flap our wings, shake our feathers, and wobble like a turkey to Patty Shukla's Turkey Dance song!"
- Miss Klaif's Class: Students learned all about election day and how to vote last week. They went through all of the steps--filling out a voter registration form, casting their ballot in the voting booth, and getting an "I Voted" sticker/necklace. They read "Duck for President" and then voted for either Duck or Farmer Brown to be president. The winner was Mr. Duck!
- Ms. Chambers' Class: Students have started to study what happens to their Jack-O-Lanterns after Halloween. After Halloween they placed soil at the bottom of our terrarium and then put in their pumpkin. Then they sealed the terrarium tightly. This week students noticed that the pumpkin has started to decompose. They are all excited to watch what happens next to their pumpkin!
- Ms. McKenna's Class: On Veterans Day, the students got to write and decorate cards to send to the veterans. Thjey also got to do a leaf project as well.
