Silva Flag Salute Schedule 2025
The Silva Elementary Choir, orchestrated by the amazing Kathy Evans, will lead students in our traditional Flag Salute which is loved by all students. Parents are welcome to watch from the fence. It's a beautiful time for students to come together in song, dance and salute.
Here is what you might like to know about this day:
If it rains, we will reschedule or cancel the salute.
Music teachers will teach the songs in the time assigned to each class.
Kinder teachers will teach songs in the classroom.
The choir will lead each song. All students will sing from their morning lines on the playground.

Schoolwide Activity Celebrating Black History Month:
Last year, Dr. Preeti shared information about a Silva school-wide activity honoring individuals, many of whom were heroes of African descent, who have positively impacted American culture. This activity was very well received by students, parents, and teachers. Therefore, we are excited to share this opportunity with you once again.
To celebrate Black History Month, teachers and students have been invited to select a person from the link provided here and then to create a collective project on this hero.
We encourage teachers and students to showcase their learning by displaying artifacts, images, poems, quotes, essays, or projects related to anyone on the provided list or any other individual who is relevant and appropriate for our students' interests. At the end of the month, we will organize a walkthrough event for students to engage in viewing presentations, providing an opportunity for learning and inspiration.

CAASPP/ELPAC FAQ & Updates (K-12)
- Teacher CAASPP and ELPAC Accounts
- We have received reports that some sites errored out of user uploads for CASSPP and ELPAC. Please log into TOMS, go to Reports, and run the “Security Forms and Remote Administration Status Report”. You should see all of your teachers when the report is run in CAASPP, and your ELA/ELD/Homeroom Teachers when the report is run in ELPAC. If you do NOT see them on this report, please fill out the following google form so that we can rerun the teacher accounts for your site on Friday. Thank you! https://forms.gle/Up2PNSDu2znqCpAi6
- SEIS Supports and Accommodations
- The state has created a “link” between SEIS and TOMS so student supports and accommodations are now importing automatically every night. This means you will no longer need to manually update students in TOMS as IEP meetings happen during testing. As a reminder, you should be working with your fellow administrators and SPED case carriers to ensure all students have the supports and accommodations they need in TOMS BEFORE they begin testing. (Please note that all supports and accommodations pull from the students’ future IEP.)

- As a reminder, the 24-25 State Assessments Google Classroom has a Moodle slide deck available for every test. Each slide deck includes the related the Moodle training code.

NorCal Science & Technology Festival (K-12)
We are excited to announce that the NorCal Science & Technology Festival will again be hosted at Lodi High School on February 22nd, 10 am to 3:00 pm. The festival is a student-organized, FREE one-day celebration of science and technology featuring STEAM career professionals, fun presentations, hands-on activities, and special exhibitions designed to entertain all ages. This event is student organized. Please encourage your students and their families to attend!
Attached are digital posters (English & Spanish) for posting in Google Classrooms, etc. Printed half sheet flyers will be delivered to all elementary schools for distribution home about a week or two prior to the event. Here is also a link to a folder with other file options NorCal Science Festival Poster Files for distribution.

New at the Festival!! Junkyard Masterpiece Art Competition (K-12)
New this year is our first-ever art competition, "Junkyard Masterpieces", sponsored by Cal-Waste. Students Pre-K through 12 are invited to create collages and/or sculptures from recycled and reused materials that will be showcased at the festival. All of the information regarding this competition is in the attached flyer and in this folder Art Show Poster & Submission Files.
We are asking teachers to help promote our competition by either making it a class assignment or simply encouraging students to get creative and send in their submissions. Submissions can be either dropped off in person in the Lodi High School Library or sent via district mail to “Lodi High-Library”.

Annual Testing Notification (K-12)
Dear Lodi USD Parent/Guardians,
Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures such as grades, class work, and teacher observations, these tests give families and teachers a more complete picture of their child’s learning. You can use the results to identify where your child is doing well and where they might need more support. Your child may be taking one or more of the following:
- California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)
- English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Lodi USD has released a new Middle School Course Catalog! It includes information about core subjects such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, and foreign languages (available at select sites). Please note that elective offerings vary by school, and site staff will provide additional details. The catalog also includes information about A-G requirements to help families understand college and career readiness. While the College/Career Indicator (CCI) and Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways are part of high school, middle school is a great time to start thinking about future opportunities.

This new edition is tailored specifically to California standards, featuring updated language aligned with the ELPAC, callouts for California-specific standards, and engaging activities grounded in California contexts. The familiar organization and Try–Discuss–Connect routine from i-Ready Math 2024 will remain, ensuring a smooth transition for teachers and students.
As part of this subscription model, all curriculum updates are included in the price of purchase, so you’ll always have access to the latest resources. Teachers will receive updated Teacher’s Editions along with Student Editions, which are designed to be used for several years—please take good care of them! Each house boasts unique characteristics like its own color, symbols, and national heritage, creating a diverse and vibrant community within the school. The house system at Ron Clark Academy is distinguished by its cross-grade structure, mixing students of all ages. This setup allows for mentoring opportunities and interaction across different grade levels, fostering a family-like culture in the school. The academy’s approach helps students gain friendships and connect with others they might not usually meet, enhancing the overall sense of unity.
Teachers and staff at the academy take on the role of “house parents,” offering guidance and support to students in their houses.
