• Monday, May 20th is our 4th Quarter Assembly!
• Tuesday, May 21st is 5th Grade promotion. Save the date.
• Tuesday, May 21st is Kindergarten Graduation at 6PM!
• Wednesday, May 22nd is Level Up Day! Each grade level will visit next year's class to preview their future grade level and ask questions.
• Thursday, May 23rd is the last day of school!

Hello Pershing families,

Our School Nurse has a message for parents/guardians of student’s who have medication in the Nurse’s Office. This list includes daily medications, inhalers, epi-pens, seizure medication, as needed medications, etc.

This is the first reminder that all medications will need to be picked up no later than an hour before dismissal on May 23. Any and all medications that have not been picked by that time will be discarded.

Some have planned for just enough medication to make it through to the end of the school year. If that pertains to you, you may come to our office to pick up the empty bottle OR give us permission to dispose of the bottle. We are not able to send the empty bottles home with students.

Again, ALL medications that have NOT been picked up prior to dismissal, will be discarded. This includes epi-pens. Please reach out via email (jppickering@spsmail.org) or phone call (417-523-2430) to schedule a time to pick up medications.

*If your student will be attending Explore at Pershing, you may leave medications here.*

This month in counseling, we will be focusing on our transition to the end of the school year and looking ahead to what is to come. Students will be able to reflect back on what they enjoyed about this school year and some of their favorite memories; as well as what they learned. We will also spend some time discussing what is ahead; such as transitioning to a new grade, a new school, and summer plans.

Start with a book

To ward off the learning loss that many children experience over the summer Start with a Book offers parents, caregivers, summer program staff and librarians lots of engaging ideas for getting kids hooked on reading, exploring, and learning all summer long — and beyond.

The Pershing PTA advocates for the students and teachers of Pershing Elementary. This organization supports Pershing teachers through classroom grants, back to school gifts, providing meals during back to school and parent-teacher conference times. Our PTA provides funds for class field trips, and hosts many family events.

It costs $10.00 to join PTA. You are not obligated to donate your time just because you sign up. This small amount of money quickly adds up to support our small school. Grandparents and other family members are welcome to join and support the PTA! Each dollar goes toward Pershing Elementary.

Our Pershing PTA would love your involvement as much as you wish to help. This is a great way to show your child you support their school.
