Happy Summer! It's time to "get digging" as we begin a new school year at Layer Elementary! We are excited to welcome our "blossoming flowers" to campus for the 2024-2025 school year! We will be embracing our gardening theme as we are "Growing Greatness For 20 Years" at Layer! Our GROW focuses will be: Give Opportunities for Collaboration and Engagement, Relatationships to Build Trust and Belonging, Own Data Successes and Differentiate Needed Next Steps, and Willingness to Learn with a Growth Mindset.

Please read below for some important Back-to-School information. We will continue to send our Layer Link each Saturday morning at 9:00a.m. throughout the year so you can stay connected to our campus happenings! Please be aware that email blasts are the primary way you will receive school information. Be sure to keep your email address and phone number current in Skyward! Please know Skyward is updating and schedules are still being inputted. Your teacher assignments will be official on Wednesday, August 7.

• 8/29- PTA 20th Anniversary Celebration! PTA General Meeting (5:30p.m.), Celebrating Layer’s History (5:45p.m.), Cake with Lucky (6:00p.m.) and Sneaker Ball with Community Partners Fair (6:15p.m.-7:30p.m.)

Please join us for our Meet the Teacher Event for the 2024-2025 school year! We look forward to seeing our K-5, VPK, and PreK students and families during the 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. window.

In addition to meeting your teacher, you can bring your school supplies, sign up for a membership with our Layer Elementary PTA, get your car signs (see below), speak with Red Apple Dining, chat with KidZone, meet our Crossing Guards, get bus information with Transportation, and more!

• If you plan to pick up your child(ren) through the car line, you must display a personalized car sign. Click the link below to register for your car signs.

• Car signs, 2 per family, will be printed and available for pick-up at Meet the Teacher. After that day, parents must show ID at the front desk to receive the signs.

The Dividends School Volunteer Program is a district-wide effort that encourages and promotes community involvement in the Seminole County Public Schools. You must be a registered Dividend to volunteer during school events or chaperone any field trip.

Layer is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) School! We expect all students to follow our PRIDE expectations so we can keep our school a happy and safe place for all students.

We appreciate family support as we link all behavior choices to our expectations across our campus with our continued Lucky Bucks and our consistent Behavior Alert system. Layer follows a Heirachy of Consequences in every classroom which can be viewed HERE.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. These are the expectations that all students follow to keep our school happy and safe.

HERE is the Seminole County Public Schools Dress Code. We ask that all students have appropriate clothing and safe shoes to play outside in each day. No flip-flops please!
