Guided Buddies Program
Exploring Illinois History
In an immersive learning experience, the spirit of the Illinois State Fair came alive at Half Day School recently, offering our fourth-grade students a taste of farming, agriculture, and industry as seen in these photos. As part of their ongoing exploration of our state's rich history, the students had the opportunity to engage in a range of hands-on activities that brought Illinois' heritage to life.
Student Medication Pick Up
Please stop by the nurse's office to pick up any of your child's medication that they take at school. Unclaimed medication will be disposed of after today, June 5. If you child will attend summer school, you will need to pick up the medication and drop it off again on Monday, June 9, for summer school.
Incoming 6th-Grade Medical Forms Needed
- The Daniel Wright nurses' office is accepting health forms for the 2025-2026 school year.
- Visit the Health and Wellness section of the website to see what is needed and ways in which you can get it to the school nurse.
- Daniel Wright students playing a sport must have a physical on file with the school nurse before practice begins.
- Sixth-grade needs a health form with proof of immunizations and a dental form.
- For students with allergies the nurses' office will need new emergency action plans for the next school year.

5th-Grade Summer Reading
Over the summer, incoming sixth-grade students are being asked to read a book that they will discuss in class when they start at Daniel Wright in August. Please take a moment to review the summer reading lists created by the English Language Arts teachers.
The goal of the Daniel Wright library is to maintain a collection of material that supports the curriculum and provides for individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels. Materials are selected to encourage knowledge acquisition and to develop literary, cultural, aesthetic appreciation, and ethical standards. Students are free to select resource center materials as well as receive guided selection of materials appropriate to specific, planned learning experiences. Please complete the young adult consent form and return it to school if you do NOT give consent for your child to read YA resources from the school library.
D103 Belonging Survey
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey on belonging. The purpose of this survey is to better understand experiences and perceptions related to belonging within our school community. Your responses will help us identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth as we work to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
