From the Interim Principal
Dear Parents,
Thank you very much for improving our morning car pool situation. Even though we have had a couple of cold mornings, we are not experiencing any difficulty with car pool. For those of you who had the issue with bus transportation, the Board of Education gave an increase in pay for our drivers which has resulted in better recruitment and retention of drivers.
We have had great success with our pre-payment for Thanksgiving meal tickets. We look forward to seeing many of you as you join your children for lunch next week.
.
Have a wonderful weekend!

November Walk to School Day
Gather your warm weather gear and mark your calendars for next week’s walk to school on Friday, November 22nd. It may be chilly, but it will be a great way to kickoff Thanksgiving break and get your steps in before the over indulging begins! (Note: to date, we have not cancelled a WTS event and we don't plan to this year.) Last month we had a large group from Brierfield who went the “extra mile” to participate! If your neighborhood has a large group or if you go the “extra mile” to participate, we want to know - please post your pics to the CCES Facebook page and/or email Marnie.Nessen@gmail.com.
Our business partner, Best in Class Education, will have a table set up, so please stop by to see how Best in Class can help your student develop the skills and knowledge for a bright future. See you next week!

Note From the clinic
A friendly reminder that we need your help in keeping head lice at bay. Head lice are small insects that live on the scalp of human beings. They are tiny (about the size of a sesame seed). Lice lay eggs on individual pieces of hair. These eggs, called nits, are firmly attached to the hair shaft and found approximately ¼ inch from the scalp. Lice do not jump and they do not fly. Lice do not live on pets. Head lice are typically spread through prolonged, direct head-to head contact, however there are rare occasions where lice may be indirectly spread by brushes/combs, hats, coats, etc. that have been used by a person who has head lice. Head lice are very common in the elementary school population. Please help us monitor our students by checking your child’s head on a weekly basis and especially during long breaks. Should you find indications of lice (live bugs or nits) please notify the clinic so that we can keep track. If your child is found to have lice, they may return to school once treatment has been completed. If you have additional questions regarding lice, you may contact Denise Weinstein in the school clinic or our Cluster School Nurse, Marian Buckle RN at 678-472-7534.
