We celebrate literacy this week at BK! In addition to reading and writing activities, we have some special guests who will be joining us to share a story and a love of reading! We are so excited to welcome every guest to our school to share their love of reading! Mrs. Williams will also have the Public Library's Trail Tale set up outside for all classes to enjoy a story in nature!

Our Thanksgiving Celebration is coming up on October 10, 2023 at 1:15 p.m.. We are looking forward to Father Jack coming out to the school to help us celebrate all of the beautiful things we are grateful for!

We invite any parents or guardians to join us for this special event.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are thankful for all that we have and take the opportunity to give to those in need. We invite our students to bring in non-perishable food items that will be donated to the St. Albert Food Bank. To make it fun and encourage math skills, we will allocate points for items brought in by each homeroom class.

The class with the most points will win a free recess block with Mrs. Giacobbo & Mrs. Michael!

We acknowledged National Truth and Reconciliation Day as we participated in Orange Shirt Day on Friday. There were many orange shirts worn in honour of those who attended residential schools. Our morning prayers were dedicated to acknowledging Truth and Reconciliation, we gathered as a school community to engage in a four directional prayer outside and each class engaged in various art activities and stories to commemorate this day. We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to share this day with our school community as we built understanding and strengthened our knowledge.

Introducing the Div. 2 girls group at Bertha Kennedy! Girls group provides a safe and supportive space for our division two girls to connect and develop strong friendships. It can foster a sense of belonging and empowerment, boosting self-esteem and self-confidence.

Girls Group is a voluntary, once a week lunch time club hosted by Mrs. Michael, Mrs. Giacobbo and Mrs. Florence.
