PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
Dear North Elementary Parents and Guardians,
As we step into November, it’s a time to come together as a school community to honor our veterans, celebrate friendships, and give thanks for all the blessings we share at North Elementary. We have some exciting activities lined up, and we’re thrilled to have you and your family involved in these special events.
Upcoming Events:
• Veterans Day Recognition
November is a time to honor and appreciate our veterans. We will have a special celebration in school, and we encourage all families to take a moment to recognize the courage and sacrifice of those who have served.
• Picture Retakes
If your child missed picture day or you’d like a retake, we have you covered! Please look out for details on picture retake day, scheduled for mid November.
• Thanksgiving Meal
We are excited to be able to host a Thanksgiving meal at school again! Elementary schools will have their meal on Wednesday, November 22, 2024. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to gather, reflect, and enjoy a festive meal together. There is more information included in this newsletter on how you can participate and share in this special day with your North Elementary student(s).
November Reminders:
This season is a meaningful time to reflect on the things we are grateful for, and here at North Elementary, we are especially thankful for the support and involvement of our parents and guardians. Your commitment helps us create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students to grow and thrive.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, and we look forward to celebrating a wonderful November together!
Warm regards,
Karen Middlebrooks
Principal
COUNSELORS MESSAGE
Hello Panther Families and welcome to November! This month I will be working with students on inclusion. Inclusion in an elementary school is the practice of creating an environment where all students feel valued, respected, and safe, regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, or abilities. We want North to be a place where each student’s uniqueness is celebrated!
I am here to support your students, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at my jennifer.parraz@alamogordoschools.org or my google voice number 575-495-2535.

TODAY!! Dont miss it!
BE HERE NOW!
Did you know that missing just 2 days of school per month can affect a student's academic success?
Alamogordo Public Schools is excited to announce our #BeHereAlamo #AttendanceMatters initiative. Across the country, more than 8 million students are missing so many days of school that they are academically at risk. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason - excused, unexcused absences and suspensions, can translate into third-graders unable to master reading, sixth-graders failing subjects, and ninth-graders dropping out of high school.
Alamogordo Public Schools knows that for your student to achieve their academic, career, and life goals they need to be in school. Attached are tips to help your student succeed and have great attendance. We've also included links to additional resources on the Alamogordo Public Schools website and the Be Here NM website.
The initiative has kicked off, and you will begin to see more information, resources, and contests heading your way from your student's school. Attendance matters, and will impact your student(s) for years to come. Let's help our children make the most of today and every day in the classroom! Be Here Alamo!
WAY TO GO THIRD GRADE!!! Third grade celebrated attendance goals this week with a popsicle party on the playground! BE IN SCHOOL!
