GJPS Summer School
Now Open to ALL Families
Registration for summer learning is underway! We are excited to continue our extended learning opportunities for students in Preschool through Grade 12 starting in June! PreK-7 registration is now open to ALL families.
Please review the online information thoroughly to determine which opportunities are relevant to your student. Detailed course descriptions, fees and transportation info can be found on the GJPS Summer School Website and are also included in each registration form.
Students who currently receive free and reduced school meals will not be charged fees for summer programming.
School Funding Facts
School Funding Facts: The More You Know
A proposed change in Ohio's school funding could result in an immediate reduction of more than $15 million in taxpayer-approved operating funds! This change is part of the current state budget proposal and it would drastically shift how public schools are funded across Ohio.
Learn the FACTS. Understand the IMPACT. Find out how to TAKE ACTION.
GLHS Student Parking 2025-26
Please note that due to construction, there will be NO student parking available on GLHS main campus during the school day from 7:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. for the entire 2025-26 academic school year.
Students may apply for the privilege to park at designated areas near GLHS, including but not limited to Clark Hall, Peace Lutheran, Shull Park and Gahanna Community Congregational Church.
GLHS Parking applications will be available starting Monday, May 19, at 9:00 a.m
The link to the parking application can be found at https://glhs.gahannaschools.org/
Bus ROAD-E-O
GJPS bus drivers recently competed in the Central Ohio Region Bus Road-E-O event. There, eight drivers represented the District in a field of 113 drivers from across the region in a series of challenges and competitions. We also had more than 20 other GJPS drivers who were on hand to help support all of the different events during the day.
Heart & Pride Recipients
Congratulations to this month's Heart and Pride award winners! Karen Hammond, a fifth grade teacher at Chapelfield, and Ashley Williamson, an intervention specialist coach at the secondary level, were recognized for showcasing the Heart of a Lion and the Power of the Pride. They were both recognized at the May Board of Education meeting.
If you know of a staff member, regardless of position, who exemplifies our District values, be sure to nominate them!
Alumni Hall of Fame and Cornerstone Award
As we wrap up the 2024-25 school year, it is the time when we reflect on retired or retiring staff as well as community members who have used their time and talents to support our students.
It is also the time to think of those GLHS grads who have gone on to achieve significant success in their chosen fields, made notable contributions to their community and/or demonstrated strong leadership qualities.
Please consider nominating a past GLHS graduate or long-time GJPS supporter for the following awards:
- The Gahanna Lincoln High School Alumni Hall of Fame was created to recognize graduates who, through their performance and achievement, brought credit and honor to themselves and to Gahanna Lincoln High School.
- The Cornerstone Award is an annual recognition of supporters of the District or employees that have helped to build excellence within Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.
The combined award ceremony will be in the Fall of 2025.
Please email nomination forms and supporting information to Dianna Bessignano, bessignanod@gjps.org, by June 5. The nomination forms are below.
