Hello Liberty Families,

Week 1 went well and we are looking forward to building on the successes and refining the areas that need improvement. In this week's newsletter we'll briefly share the athletics calendar, bus information, safety and security, dress code, scholar supervision times, scholar parking, IDs, and class meetings. In next week's newsletter please be on the lookout for information about homecoming 2024 and the purchase information for caps and gowns.

Our goal is always to release all busses 6 minutes after the dismissal bell rings (2:16pm or 1:16pm) in order to get our scholars home. Unfortunately busses have been held up this week with scholars not knowing which bus they ride. Below I am including two links, this first is to BusPlanner. This link will help your scholar find out what bus route they ride and where their stop is. The second is to the Here Comes the Bus app. This app will help families track their scholar's bus and will indicate if they are behind schedule. The join code for this app is 73760.

I'd also like to mention that it is mandatory that scholars scan their ID's while boarding the bus. These ID's confirm the scholar is on the correct bus.

Congratulation to the Charger Football players and Cheerleaders! Both did great this past Friday night and the Chargers won 20-12. We had over 360+ spectators join us and we are hoping to build that spirit and support. Below is this weeks schedule for athletics.

Scholar supervision begins at 6:45am and ends at 2:30pm, please do not drop off or pick up any scholars prior to that time (Unless they are in a school sponsored activity taking place at that time)

Class Meetings were held this week with all grade levels and scholars did great. Staff covered schoolwide expectations as well as the upcoming plans for Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) which include semester field trips and special recognition days.

We are going digital for the new school year. Please read, carefully, the requirements for a LHS Parking pass. All scholars parking on campus must have a parking pass and enter via the Poinciana Blvd. gate.

Drivers eligible for a parking pass must be an 11th or 12 grader who is 16 years or older with a 2.50 or better weighted GPA.

-Scholars must complete all of the fields for the Parking Application via the attached form.
-Scholars must upload all supporting documentation.
-Scholars must have valid car insurance that remains up to date while parking on campus.
-Scholars must pass a driving records check by our school resource officers.
-Scholars must submit a $30.00 payment via MySchoolBucks.
-Scholars must maintain good behavior and an acceptable discipline record at Liberty High School.

Scholars who receive 5 unexcused tardies to school will be subject to potential revocation of their parking permit. Unauthorized vehicles in the scholar parking lot will be subject to fines and towing.

Passes must be approved and purchased by August 19th, 2024.

Scholars are doing a great job, please keep in mind that T-Shirts are not allowed unless they are Liberty Spirit shirts

Scholars will be provided with an ID and lanyard. These lanyards and IDs must be worn while scholars on campus and must be scanned while boarding the bus.

This past Wednesday scholars received information on FortifyFL (reporting issues or suspicious activity) and we completed our first lockdown and fire drills. Everyone did a great job!
