PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Schnell Families,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving. As we approach the culmination of another successful school year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your involvement, dedication, and ongoing support of our school community.
Our recent Open House was a vibrant testament to the strong partnership between our school and our families. It was truly heartening to see so many parents actively engaging with our educators and taking a keen interest in the creative and academic endeavors of their children.
As we look forward to the 2024-2025 school year, your feedback is crucial for us to continue improving and adapting our environment to meet the needs of all students and families. With that in mind, I kindly ask you to dedicate a few moments to complete our end-of-year survey. Your responses will guide us in making informed decisions that enhance our educational practices and community initiatives. Please click this link for our end-of-year survey: Yearly Schnell Survey for Improvement
Your input is invaluable, and together, we can make Schnell School an even better place for our students to learn and grow.
Thank you once again for your continued support and engagement. Let’s finish this school year strong! We look forward to celebrating our last day of school on May 24th with joy and pride in our collective achievements.
Warm regards,
John A. Baker, MS. Ed.
Principal
Field Day is May 22
Mark your calendars for our annual Field Day on May 22. Volunteers are welcome, but need to be fingerprinted. Students may get wet or muddy so please add the following items to your child's backpack that day: extra clothes, towel, shoes and bag to put wet things in. We also you encourage to put sunscreen on your child before you send them to school. Students may wear appropriate swimwear, no two piece swimsuits and t-shirts must be wore with swim trunks. A detailed schedule will be sent out soon.
Living History Donations Needed
5th grade students will be participating in our annual Living History program mid May and could use a little help putting together a trade store. If you're able to donate any of the following, it would be greatly appreciated.
Candy: licorice whips, jaw breakers (especially the big ones), giant pickles, saltwater taffy, homemade cookies (or store bought that look olden-time), chocolate chunks, rock candy, fudge, candy sticks, and horehound
Non edible items: large feathers, leather lacing, string, buttons (wooden, bone, metal, or stone - no plastic), cloth or lace handkerchiefs, wooden tops, arrowheads, or rabbit's foot
And, any other vintage candy or items you can think of. Keep in mind the trade store will have items that were sold before plastic was invented and will be in "barrels" and "candy jars", just as they did in the 1850s; so no plastic.
Thank you in advance for any donation!
