Locker Clean Out: Please have your student bring a sack or bag on Friday, June 8th to help pack up any and all items in their lockers during locker clean out. We cannot guarantee that students will have the same locker from year to year, therefore everything must be removed and taken home before leaving for the summer.
Lost and Found: Please encourage your child to check our Lost and Found table before leaving for the summer. Any items left behind will be donated.
Fees/Fines: Students with lost or damaged books must pay all fees before the last day of school. Please note that students who leave for the summer with unpaid fines will lose access to both ParentVue and StudentVue until fines are paid.
End of Year Calendar Adjustment
As a reminder, Goodrich Area Schools is required to add an additional day of instruction on Monday, June 11th in order to meet State requirements. Thursday, June 7th, Friday June 8th and Monday, June 11th will be half days of instruction with classes ending at 11:00am.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families. Should our district fail to meet the State mandated threshold for student attendance on the added half day of Monday, June 11, we will lose a percentage of our State funding; which is approximately $100,000. A loss of that amount of revenue could have a negative impact on student learning and the school environment.
We appreciate your cooperation in adjusting your personal schedules to benefit our school community. Please make your child's attendance a priority.
Yearbooks Delivered This Week
Yearbooks will be delivered to students during lunches on Thursday, May 31st!
The office has a limited number of yearbooks for sale for anyone who didn't pre-pay. They will be sold in the office on a first come, first serve basis and are $40.00 (cash or check payable to Goodrich Area Schools).

GMS 8th Graders Visit Gettysburg and Washington DC
Every year for the past 16 years, the Goodrich Middle School 8th grade class has traveled to Gettysburg and Washington DC. This year was an exceptional year.
In addition to all of the fabulous, fun and patriotic sites the group normally visits, this year’s group had a surprise opportunity to visit the Kennedy Center. This visit was made even more memorable when the group performed the Star Spangled Banner and recited the Preamble of the Constitution while on the Kennedy Center terrace overlooking the Potomac River. It was a proud, heartwarming experience for everyone in attendance. Memorizing and reciting important American manuscripts are incorporated into the 8th grade curriculum by History teachers, Tena Czap and Beth Rudolph.
Also during the trip, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery, students: Annika Peterson, Katelyn Spress, Kayla Boardway, and Charleigh Schoenemann, participated in a Wreath Laying Ceremony honorably representing Goodrich Middle School.
Students and chaperones also enjoyed excellent weather and a variety of other sites and activities while on the trip. Sites visited included: the Smithsonian, Pentagon Memorial, WWII memorial, the Vietnam Wall; Korean, Lincoln, and Jefferson memorials, the White House, the Capitol, and Mt. Vernon. The group also enjoyed time on a dinner cruise on the Potomac River and their final destination, the Luray Caverns.
The trip is coordinated and supervised by teachers and class sponsors, Tena Czap and Dawn Robb.
