HALO NOTES
St. Louis Catholic High School - Thurs. Aug. 29, 2024
Back-to-School with Abundant Blessings
“You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” -Psalm 139:5
St. Louis Catholic High School marks the beginning of a new school year with abundant blessings! Last week, Bishop Glen John Provost celebrated Mass and blessed our campus and students.
On the Feast Day of St. Louis Catholic High School’s Patron Saint, St. Louis King of France, the Bishop welcomed the clergy from our owner parishes as he blessed the site of our future school campus. We continue the tradition of excellence in Catholic education for our Saints of today and well into the future. It was a beautiful ceremony honoring our past, present and future.
As always, we continue to honor and praise God in ALL ways and look forward to the wonderful school year ahead!

ACADEMICS
Virtual Day (no classes on campus) - Tomorrow, Friday, August 30
Students will have virtual assignments on Friday, August 30 to allow teachers to participate in professional development activities. The virtual assignments will be due by 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3 and teachers reviewed these with students in their weekly agendas.
Academic Support
Whenever a student begins to experience academic difficulty in a specific course, he/she should contact his/her teacher immediately to request extra help. Teachers may also request with a 24- hour notice that certain students report to the teacher for extra help either before school, at lunch, or after school. Such a request takes precedence over all other activities. At times, the counselor may also contact a student concerning a need for extra help. St. Louis Catholic High School offers weekly Academic Study Hall throughout the school year, free of charge for any student, regardless of grades.
Avoiding Plagiarism
It is essential that our students understand plagiarism and its repercussions to support the growth of their writing and research skills. During the first week of classes, our English teachers spent time discussing plagiarism and emphasized the value of originality and integrity in their work. We are giving our students vital skills that will help them throughout their academic careers by teaching them how to properly cite sources and encouraging them to develop their own writing voice. Click here to review the Academic Integrity Policy and Plagiarism Contract in the SLCHS Parent- Student Handbook.

Additionally, the three Academies mentioned above are tuition-free.
