As part of Maryland Blueprint Pillar 3, College and Career Readiness, all eighth-grade students have been invited on a field trip to The James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. During the visit, students will have an introduction to what the Tech Center has to offer. This will include an information session, small group tours of programs of interest, and a Q&A to help them begin to think about preparing for the future or planning to apply to programs as freshmen or sophomores in high school. This field trip is designed to be an opportunity for students to understand what CTE–Career and Technology Education programs are, along with the introduction to real-world and authentic work experiences.
On Tuesday, May 21st, the Math and Social Studies homerooms will go on the field trip, and on Wednesday, May 22nd, the ELA and Science homerooms will go on the field trip. We will leave Esperanza Middle School at 9:45 a.m. and return by 12:30 p.m. in time for each lunch. Please call the school at 301-863-4016 with any questions.
