Beginning of Year Forms are now available for all guardians to complete through the Skyward Family Access Center. As a reminder, all beginning of year forms should be completed by September 15th.
The mandatory ONLINE Beginning of Year Forms went live on July 26th! Take 15 minutes this week while you still have a little time to breathe and get this done.
If you are new to this, more Instructions, important dates, and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking the link https://www.lcisd.org/students-parents/family-access/beginning-of-year-forms.
*This page also includes a link to reset your Family Access username/password if you have forgotten it over the summer! :)
Your student’s schedule will NOT be viewable online through the Family Access Center until all of your student's beginning-of-year forms are completed and AFTER the campus has released schedules.
Schedule Change Request
Dear Lions,
As the new school year begins, it is important to review your current courses. The courses listed are a result of the counselor/student one on one sit-downs, also counselors providing the opportunity to make changes in May during course verifications.
At this point, the master schedule created is based on your choices. To ensure student schedule accuracy and correct anything that may have been missed, please review your students schedule.
Reason you may request a change:
A. Student is a senior not scheduled in a course needed for graduation
B. Student has already earned credit for a course in which he/she is currently scheduled
C. Student does not have prerequisite(s) for a class on his/her schedule
D. Level Change (After the 3rd week of class)
E. Student has been dismissed from a program where approval must be granted for placement
F. Student does not have a complete schedule
G. Data error (no lunch, class listed twice, free period, etc.)
We are so excited for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. We know it will be an exciting one, one full of many amazing moments.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Dear Randle Lions,
August 14th is MONDAY! Please take your time and read through this message. We have included important information that you and your student need to know! I understand this is a lot of information right now, but there are many changes for the upcoming school year. We want to be very clear about our 2023/24 expectations so there is no confusion with you or your child. You will find important information regarding the CHANGES to the student code of conduct handbook. The changes to the student code of conduct were approved by the school board on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Below is a summary of key changes, but it is highly recommended everyone carefully reads pages 156-172.
Let’s begin with E-Cigarettes/Vapes. Possession of ANY E-Cigarette (vape or device), regardless if it contains THC or not, is a MANDATORY ALC PLACEMENT! Do not bring these devices to campus! (Code DRP pg. 170).
Secondly there are also changes in our expectation with telecommunication devices.
- "Students are allowed to bring their own telecommunication devices to school, ALL DEVICES must remain in student backpacks for the duration of the day. Students will be allowed to take out and use their devices at lunch only unless otherwise directed by administration. Teachers also have discretion to allow device use in class for instruction purposes only. Students must follow teacher and district rules in regards to using their device. Using a phone in school is a privilege that can be revoked at any time." (pg. 156)
- “Telecommunication devices that disrupt the education process, are used inappropriately or when not directed by a teacher or staff member, or used in violation of the Student Code of Conduct will be confiscated. School personnel will write an office referral and it will be turned into the principal’s office. If this is the students first offense, they will be allowed to retrieve their device at the end of the school day. If the student is leaving early, they must return at the end of the school day to retrieve their device, no exceptions will be made. Repeated offenses will require parent/guardian, and/or a third party that retains legal right of ownership to obtain a release of the electronic device for a monetary fee of $15.” (pg. 156)
Inappropriate use of Cell Phone Practice (pg.157):
- 1st Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated and returned at end of day.
- 2nd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, and parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee.
- 3rd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is assigned ISS.
- 4th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is suspended.
- 5th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is recommended to attend ALC.
- 6th Offense & Beyond – Recommend ALC Placement
Misuse Of Technology Resources and The Internet
- The use of mobile phones or any device during tests is strictly prohibited. Any person with a phone/device out during a test will have their phone confiscated immediately for parent pickup and will receive a zero. The use of mobile phones or any device in restrooms and/or locker rooms is strictly prohibited. If an individual uses a phone to video individuals in a private setting (bathroom/locker room) or compromising situation, then it will be coded a "State Jail Felony" and is a mandatory DAEP placement.
- Any person using their phones in these areas will have their device confiscated immediately for parent pickup and will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct and will be reported to law enforcement in accordance with the Texas Penal Code.
Next, I would like to discuss Safety Transgressions. The following points are prohibited by students and will be strictly monitored and enforced.
Students shall not:
- Possess published or electronic material that is designed to promote or encourage illegal behavior or that could threaten school safety.
- Engage in verbal (oral or written) exchanges that threaten the safety of another student, a school employee, or school property.
- Make false accusations or perpetrate hoaxes regarding school safety.
- Engage in any conduct that school officials might reasonably believe will substantially disrupt the school program or incite violence.
- Throw objects that can cause bodily injury or property damage.
- Discharge a fire extinguisher or activating a fire alarm without valid cause.
- Be in a location, such as bus, gymnasium, teacher workroom, unassigned classroom, choir room, restroom, custodial closets, hallway, auditorium, athletics’ field/court, playground, locker room, band room, cafeteria, offices, etc. without approval.
