A Note From Your Proud Principal

Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful and joyful holiday season. As we step into 2025, we are excited for the opportunities the new year holds and look forward to the continued growth and success of our students. Please read on for important updates and events in January.

Welcome Back!
We are thrilled to welcome your child back to school after the winter break! January is a great time to refocus on academics and set new goals for the second half of the school year. Teachers have exciting lessons planned, and we can’t wait to see our students grow even further.

Winter Weather Reminders:
As winter weather is now in full swing, please remember to send your child with appropriate winter clothing, including jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves. We will go outside for recess when the weather permits, and it’s essential that students are dressed warmly.

Focus on Attendance:
We continue to emphasize the importance of school attendance. Please ensure that your child arrives on time each day, and if they are going to be absent, remember to notify the school. Regular attendance is key to academic success.

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to an amazing start to the year with our wonderful students.

Introducing to our new Assistant Principal Intern, Amy Noack

We are pleased to announce that Amy Noack has officially been appointed as the Interim Assistant Principal for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Noack has been with us at Mina Elementary for a little over 4 years-in education for a total of 16 years. She has become a valued member of our school community and now a part of our administrative team.

With a strong background in education and a deep commitment to our students' success, Mrs. Noack has already made a positive impact on both students and staff. She brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership and is dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for all of our students.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Noack as she continues to serve in this important role. We are confident that her leadership will help guide us toward a successful year.

Our public facing curriculum calendars are shared with our families so that you can see what your child is learning by grade level and subject. Simply click on the links below. Math Fact Fluency
Fact fluency helps build higher order thinking in mathematics, builds students’ confidence in their math abilities, and reduces confusion and anxiety. Here at Mina, we want all our students to grow and succeed in their math abilities. Beginning this month and continuing through the end of the school year, we are promoting math fact fluency practice through the use of the math practice trifolds.

Teachers will be presenting this to their class and tracking how students progress through each operation's fluencies trifolds. This is optional practice that any child in any grade level can choose to participate in. Students will be allowed to take one practice sheet home at a time. Upon completion of the trifold, students will turn in their sheet to their teacher who will be tracking their progress. Once all fact trifolds have been completed in an operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), students will go to the office for a prize. Then they can begin the next operation’s fluency trifolds.
