• 7/29 - All school building offices reopen
• 8/15 - First day of school for students (Grades 1 - 8)

• 8/19 - First IPTO meeting of the 24/25 school year at 6:30 at Benson

• 8/19 - First day of school for students (Grades Pre-K & Kindergarten)

• Note, between 6/10 and 8/2, the district offices will be closed on Fridays

Please note, monthly parent newsletters from the school Principals will be distributed later this week due to the 4th of July holiday.

Registration for all students (new students and returning students) is completed online. The option to start the registration process and submit at a later time exists.

NEW THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

School registration fees, gym uniforms, milk, transportation, etc. has been added to TeacherEase for payment. Registration fees and transportation fees are due at the time of registration.

Summer is a great time to schedule appointments to complete health requirements for the upcoming school year! Physical exams and immunizations are due 10/15 (of the current school year) or your child will be excluded from school until the proper updated paperwork is turned in.

The Board of Education meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held at the Itasca Village Hall, 550 W. Irving Park Road, Itasca, Illinois, at 7:00 P.M. If a closed session is needed, it is held prior to the regular meeting at 6:00 P.M.

Preparing your child with the right supplies is a great first step to ensure student success. Find your school supply list below.

We encourage you to help your children dive into the joy of reading. Research consistently shows that children who read at least four books over the summer are better prepared for the upcoming school year and avoid the "summer slide” — a decline in reading skills that can occur during the break. Whether your child is an eager reader or a reluctant one, summer offers a unique opportunity to explore new worlds through books and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Here are a few resources:

• Itasca Community Library hosts various drop in events and a summer reading program where kids can earn prizes through 7/31!
• Peacock Middle School has a list of recommended books based on grade level and a 2024 Summer Reading Challenge!
• Chuck E. Cheese offers bonus points when reading daily and completing the rewards calendar.

For those wishing to purchase a photo keepsake with their former student's 8th grade handprint wall, you can now do so via Artsonia.com. Instructions on how to purchase are outlined on the below PDF. Note, 20% of sales are donated back to the school's art program.

We have captured the handprint walls from 2007 - 2024, with the exception of 2020.
