Principal's Corner
Dear Godwin Heights Middle School Families,
This week, our school community has shown perseverance in incredible ways. Students have been resilient in tackling challenging projects, preparing for assessments, and working collaboratively with their peers. In classrooms, I’ve observed examples of students pushing through difficulties, whether it was refining writing, solving complex math problems, or rethinking strategies during science.
Our staff has been equally inspiring. Teachers continue to go above and beyond to support students’ learning journeys, offering extra help sessions, engaging lessons, and words of encouragement when students need them most. The dedication to fostering a growth mindset and modeling perseverance has been evident across all grade levels.
As we approach the holiday season and the semester’s end on December 20th, I want to remind families of the importance of regular school attendance. If your family is planning an extended absence, please contact the office. We’ll schedule a meeting to ensure your child is academically supported before their absence, especially with final exams on December 18, 19, and 20th.
Finally, as Thanksgiving draws near, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you—parents, students, and staff. Your partnership and commitment to making Godwin Heights Middle School a nurturing and successful place to learn is deeply appreciated. Together, we are making this school year great!

Artroom Highlight: Paper Mâché Projects Inspired by Yayoi Kusama
Students used Yayoi Kusama's signature style of bright colors, bold patterns, and repetition to create their own paper mâché projects. Each student selected a specific mood or emotion to express, choosing colors and patterns that best represented their chosen theme—whether it was joy, excitement, calm, or something entirely unique!
TEAM21 Updates
Highlights
This week, students decorated our space with a "Thankful Tree," adding leaves with things they were grateful for, which inspired reflections of gratitude. We completed the tree on Tuesday, filling the classroom with heartfelt messages. On Wednesday, students role-played scenarios to practice responsibility and teamwork, preparing for presentations next week. Thursday brought our weekly tennis lesson, where students honed their skills and stayed active.
Looking Ahead
We’ll celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov 26 with food, games, and gratitude activities. Please note, there will be no program on Nov 27 & 28 for Thanksgiving break.
