Greetings Shaw Montessori,

Welcome October!

Last week the Shaw Stars Volleyball team won against sister school Whittier which resulted in allowing them to advance to the playoffs, (see schedule below). Big thanks to Coach Wilfert for his skilled coaching and to our student athletes for the rally against an undefeated rival!

Thank you for attending parent workday. Our infill project is now complete. Labeling the desert plants will be our last step for this phase. Take a peek at these spaces when you are on campus for conferences.

We have seen many of you this week for parent/teacher conferences. Conferences will continue through Friday. Please remember Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are all early release days. We look forward to seeing the rest of you over the course of the week.

Fall break is here. School will be closed from October 7th-October 14th. We will see you on Tuesday, October 15th. The 16th is a full day for the kindergarten through 8th grade students.

Greetings!

One more week until fall break! That means one more week with watermelon popsicles. This block has been a blast. Watermelon popsicles have been enjoyed by the vast majority of students. Usually there are few students from each class that do not like the food, but this one “slaps” as the kids say.

The following volunteer dates are on the calendar:

· December 3rd & 5th (holiday concert afterparty)

· February 22nd (2nd parent workday)

We are always seeking coffee grounds, seeds, aluminum cans and MASON JARS. PLEASE, NO MORE EGGSHELLS. If you have anything that might benefit our garden program, please contact me via email.
