A message from me...
Good Afternoon and Happy Friday!
I hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed the small glimpses of spring we were given. It looks like there’s more ahead next week, which is certainly exciting!
March 8 would have been my dad’s 73rd birthday. I don’t share this often, but my dad passed away during my first year as principal at Jerome. It was sudden, though not entirely unexpected (a story for another time). Sadly, our relationship was strained at times, and I didn’t always experience the kind of father-son moments that many envision or that some of you may have had in your own lives.
For years, I carried feelings of resentment and sadness that our relationship wasn’t like those I saw among my friends, strangers, or even families within our Jerome community. But as I’ve grown—as an educator and as a father to my own kids—I’ve come to recognize the lessons my dad taught me, just in different ways.
I share this as a simple reminder: take a moment to appreciate the people in your life. Say thank you, I forgive you, and I love you whenever you can. Love you, Dad. Happy Heavenly Birthday.
Have an wonderful weekend,
Mike

Infinite Campus Attendance Portal
Thank you for submitting your students' absences through the attendance notification portal in IC. Once you have submitted the absence through the portal YOU DO NOT NEED to email the DJHS attendance. Duplicate notifications slow down the ability to process absences. Emails to DJHS attendance should only be used for sending follow up medical notes. We appreciate your help and understanding.
