September 5, 2024

Dear SkyView Families,

We hope you're all having a wonderful start to the new school year. We've enjoyed seeing new friendships develop and eagerly await the upcoming fun-filled events that fill our calendars. One event that should not be missed is the much-anticipated Field Day FUNdraiser, scheduled to kick off the fall season with a bang this Friday, September 6th. The FUNdraiser will conclude with our epic Field Day on Friday, September 27th.

Our star PE teachers, Mrs. Bishop, and Ms. Venette, are hard at work, putting together an incredible Field Day packed with fun activities for our pre-kindergarten to 5th-grade students. We encourage you to come and catch your children's delight in a day of fun and adventure. It's also a perfect opportunity to capture lasting memories for your family photo collection!

Below are the grade-level colors for this year's Field Day. We encourage each class to unleash their creativity with their grade-level colors. Once again, we will host a contest to recognize a class's most creative use of colors. Let's get those creative ideas flowing!

PK: Blue

Kinder: Green

First: Red

Second: Pink

Third: Yellow

Fourth: Purple

Fifth: Orange

A few years ago, we combined our Field Day excitement with our fall fundraising efforts, and the result was remarkable. We are continually amazed by the generosity of the SVA community. Your support during last year's event enabled us to acquire numerous incredible resources for SkyView. A simple "Thank You" doesn't quite capture the depth of our gratitude. Below, you'll find a list of items we were able to acquire last year, all because of your generous contributions.

  • Manipulatives for our math curriculum

  • Literacy support programs

  • Professional Development

This year, our focus for the funds will be:

  • Curriculum support materials

  • Technology items and updates

  • Building safety

I want to express my sincere gratitude for entrusting your children to our care. We are excited about the upcoming 5th Annual Field Day FUNdraiser and hope it fosters a sense of community and celebrates our school. Please stay tuned for more details about this special event via email.

With gratitude,

Paula Harrison

Lower School Principal
