Valley Creek Families,

What an amazing week it’s been! First, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in and supported the Fun Run. It was a fantastic event, and we’re grateful for your enthusiasm and spirit! There’s still time to fundraise, and we have until October 1st to reach our goal—every bit helps!

We are also still looking for families to showcase their cultures and traditions at our Multicultural Fair on October 24th. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our diversity, and we’d love to have you be a part of it! If you haven’t signed up yet, please consider joining us for this special evening.

Our Stay and Play last week was a huge success, and it was so much fun seeing the kids and families enjoying time together.

Lastly, a quick reminder that tonight is Spirit Night! Don’t forget to wear your Valley Creek gear and show your school pride!

Thank you for your compliance and understanding as we follow these district security protocols:

• A valid state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student.
• Please be prepared to present your physical ID upon arrival.
• We are not be able to accept photos of ID's on phones.
• We will not be able to admit anyone to volunteer, visit, or pick up a student that does not present their physical ID.

• A background check is required each school year for people wanting to volunteer in McKinney ISD.
• This includes making copies, PTA events, lunch duty coverage, classroom parties, field trips, and other volunteering that takes place inside and outside our building.
• We encourage all parents and guardians to complete your volunteer application as soon as possible to avoid any delay in the processing.
• Anyone that has not completed a volunteer application and had it approved will not be able to volunteer in any capacity inside or outside of our building.

2024 - 2025 VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

Friday September 27th -5:00pm - 6:00pm - North End of the Home side of the stadium - Tailgate Fun - Bring a sack dinner and chairs/blanket for a tailgate picnic in the parking lot before the game. We will have some games and hang out before we go into the stadium!

6:30 - 7:00pm - Section 109 - Valley Creek Spirit Night MISD Stadium -

• Students, along with their parents/guardians, are invited to join us to show off our Valley Creek spirit and cheer on the MHS Lions in their game vs Allen Eagles that starts at 7:00pm.
• Families may meet teachers/staff in the stands, section 109, at 6:30pm.
• Students and teachers/staff will go onto the field to be recognized and have a pic taken! Parents will wait in the stands to cheer for our school!
• Students will return to the stands to their parents/guardians. Families are then free to sit wherever their tickets permit to enjoy the rest of the game!
• This is not a drop off event for students; an adult is required to attend with them.

Wednesday October 2nd - Fall Picture Day - Individual pictures to be taken for yearbook. Purchasing is online only through School Pix. Directions below.

Thursday October 10th - Last day of 1st Quarter

Friday October 11th - 15th - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS - Fall Break

Tuesday October 15th -Professional Learning Day for Teachers

Wednesday October 16th - First day of 2nd Quarter - No visitors or volunteers

PTA Walk to School Day - McKinney High Drumline to welcome students as they walk to school

Thursday October 17th - 6:00pm - 8:00pm - at CEC - MISD Community Resource Night - The purpose of the Fall Community Resource Night is to connect community resources with families in need to help improve and sustain the quality of life for students and families of McKinney ISD.

Friday October 18th - Meeting at the Creek - Quarterly celebration for staff and students only

MISD Pink Out Day - wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Saturday October 19th - Bulldog Run - Join Coach Tennis - info below

Thursday October 24th - 6:00pm - 8:00pm - Family Culture and Traditions Night - at Valley Creek
