This is a reminder that the Ocean City School District is closed on Monday, October 14th for all students and staff. Enjoy the three day weekend!

Unfortunately our BMX Assembly that was scheduled for today had to cancel last minute. We improvised and had a great end of the day with grade level activities centered around team building.

Keep your eyes and ears open for a rescheduled date for the BMX assembly!

Please note that this coming Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Oct 16-18) are early dismissal days for all OCIS students. Dismissal begins at 12:10pm for students.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday evening, and Friday afternoon. Parents / Guardians must have a time slot reserved to attend a conference time.

Links for parent sign-up / registration is being extended to the end of the day on Tuesday, October 15th at 2:30. After the 15th, the links will be closed. If you wish to sign up after this date, please contact our Guidance office at the information below.

Listed below are links to a google form for your child's grade level where you can find available times for their given grade level / classroom teachers. Please note that you must reserve a time if you plan on attending a conference.

Our annual Halloween Dance for 6th-8th Grade students will be held on Friday, October 18th from 7:00-8:30pm in the OCIS cafeteria. Students must have a completed permission slip on file to attend.

The PTA's Fall Book Fair will be held at the Intermediate School from 10/21 - 10/25. More information will be emailed home at the beginning of next week.

Please note: If you do not wish for your child to attend the book fair, please email Mr. Engle at mengle@ocsdnj.org and your child's teacher will be notified of your wishes.

This is a reminder that PEEC Fundraiser Calendars that are completed and turned in by the end of homeroom on Tuesday, October 15th will be entered into a raffle for a prize.

All other calendars are due back to their homeroom teachers by Friday, October 25th.

Our lost & found items are beginning to accumulate! If your child is missing a sweatshirt, water bottle, or any other item, please have them check the Lost & Found bin located outside of the cafeteria.

Items will be moved into the cafeteria during Parent Teacher Conferences. You are encouraged to check the lost & found section when attending your scheduled conference time this coming week!

Safety is our first Priority - Please remember the following information if your child bikes to/from school.

• Bikers:

• Must wear a helmet

• Walk your bike once on school property

• Cross at designated crosswalks

To report a student absence:

• Email: OCISattendance@ocsdnj.org
• Please state student's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for the absence

Please note that this email does not excuse your child from school. For the absence to be coded as an absence not counting towards truancy, a doctor's note or other proper documentation as outlined in the district attendance policy must be submitted to the main office when your child returns to school.

Tardy / Late To School

Students receive two free unexcused lates per marking period (arriving after 7:45am). Any additional unexcused late arrivals will result in a detention being issued as outlined in the OCIS student code of conduct. Students arriving with a doctors note will be marked as an excused late arrival.
