Band Blast

Dear Band Families,

Oh my goodness!!! What a week it has been. I miss my students!!!!!!

And I just got the news that we will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow.

BUT we will see each other soon.

I feel like we are starting all over again. But it will definitely be good to get back to school and to hear some amazing students work on all the challenging music I have given them. I have spent MUCH of this past week studying the scores, and planning out the next few months and how to best prepare our students for the upcoming CPA/JPA performances.

• After-School Sectionals Begin This Week!

  • Monday: Flutes
  • Tuesday: Low Brass and Low Reeds
    Both ensembles will meet from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in either the band room or the auditorium. Please check the calendar below for all upcoming after-school commitments.

• All-State Callback Auditions Rescheduled
  Due to inclement weather across the state this past week and a half, the All-State Callback Auditions have been postponed to this upcoming Saturday, February 1st. We wish all of our auditioning students the best of luck as they prepare! Once we finish those auditions, we will know the official region chair placements.

• Fundraiser
  We launched our last fundraiser of the year the week before the snow storm! Students were sent home with a form to collect emails and phone numbers of family and friends. Please ensure your student brings this information to school tomorrow. The more contacts they collect, the more funds we can raise toward our trip to Disney. BUT we are also truly trying to raise funds for our program. Our band backer association are amazing, but they can't do everything alone, and they need a bit more help to make things happen. We need to help raise some funds for the band so we can do all the amazing things we want to do!!! Please share the QR code below and help us raise funds. It doesn't take anything more from you than sharing it on social media, or sending it our via text.

Parents and Students -

We are making a push to try and raise some funds for our band program.

If you are going on the spring trip, the funds you raise will go towards your remaining portion of the trip cost. BUT we are also looking to help our Band Backers raise funds to support the amazing students of our band program. They do an amazing job making the "magic" happen, but even the best magicians need assistance.

Please, please, PLEASE consider taking part in our fundraiser. We are only $5,000 away from our goal, but I truly believe we can easily raise at least $10,000 more!!!

It just takes some emails and/or phone numbers. The company takes care of the rest! It can be sent to anyone in the world! And best yet...there is nothing anyone has to buy!!!
