Personal Body Safety Lessons
Montgomery County Public Schools is taking an active role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect through early prevention and intervention education.
Starting the week of November 18th through the month of December, our school counselor will be presenting lessons on the topic of child abuse and neglect. These lessons, which have been delivered to students each year in the past, are known as Personal Body Safety Lessons. Their purpose is to help students to:
• Develop knowledge, decision making skills, and behaviors which promote safe living in the home,
school, and community;
• Learn skills for self-protection and identifying child abuse and neglect;
• Learn skills for asking for help for self and others and practice reporting to a trusted adult; and
• Engage in positive and appropriate interactions with peers and adults.
If you have any questions or concerns about the topics that will be covered, please contact me, your child’s classroom teacher, or the school counselor Mrs. Ioli.

Greetings, Wildcats!
We are looking forward to hosting our Wildcat grandparents tomorrow! Doors open at 8am and grandparents may enter directly through the APR, near the bus loop. !! Important Alert !! We are experiencing internet connectivity issues with the Scholastic registers and will be unable to accept credit cards tomorrow. PLEASE be sure that the grandparents bring cash if they plan to shop at the Book Fair! We apologize for this inconvenience.
For all families donating a pie for Pie Time, please remember to drop off your pie(s) tomorrow between 8am and 4pm in the front office. Thank you to all who have donated pies!
Thank you to all who supported the Dave & Buster’s Power Card fundraiser. The PTA earned $720 to fund scholarships for our after-school programming. More information on how to request assistance will be shared during our next round of offers.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the December PTA Meeting, which has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30pm in the Media Center. We don’t want to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the holidays!
Please read on, as this message contains information on Wimsy’s 2024 Holiday Shoppe and our Staff Cookie Exchange! Looking ahead to December, keep an eye out for information on January’s Multicultural Night and February’s Spelling Bee.
And finally, thank you for your membership, participation, volunteerism, and donations. While we’re only required to have an executive board to be a viable PTA, it’s you - our families - that allow us to offer such wonderful experiences to our students. We couldn’t do it without you. From our families to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
