Hello! Please read the whole post! LOTS of info for the last day of school!
Each year, on the last day of school, the PTO organizes lunch for the students, teachers and staff! With the help of NSSB we will be providing sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A and Arby's! We ask that each grade level donates to lunch also:
6th Grade - Drinks https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0F4EACA62AA3FBC25...
7th Grade - Chips https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0F4EACA62AA3FBC25...
8th Grade - Desserts https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0F4EACA62AA3FBC25...
We also need volunteers to help set up, serve, and clean up! https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0F4EACA62AA3FBC25...
AND we will be celebrating ILEARN and being a "School to Watch"!
Updates from the Cafeteria
To deposit money into your child's lunch account electronically visit myschoolbucks.com to create an online account. You can also download the mobile app. Students can bring in cash to lunch, but sometimes that money gets stuck in pockets instead of deposited with the cafeteria staff. Students may bring a lunch from home on any day they choose.

Is there a teacher at CMS who went above and beyond recently? Use the Teacher Brag box to let us know what special thing that teacher did for your student, so that we can celebrate and recognize them!
Cadet Ambassadors Locker Training
Earlier this week our Cadet Ambassadors visited MCE and MCW to give a lock opening lesson to the class of 2031! Hopefully this will help to reduce some of the anxiety felt around opening a locker next year! After their trip to MCE and MCW, our Cadet Ambassadors stopped by Stacks Pancake House and Grill in Clayton for an excellent brunch! The food was delicious!
Fine Arts Night
As a part of our Fine Arts Night our 8th grade artists were able to show off their talents by displaying their artwork for the community and providing tours of the new murals at CMS! Our CMS Choir performed their Spring Concert for the community! The groups and soloists sounded amazing!
7th Grade Probability Carnival
Each 7th grade math class hosted a Probability Carnival on Friday! It was great fun and a practical application of the math skills they've been learning in class!
Sales and Marketing Shark Tank
7th grade Sales and Marketing students participated in their Shark Tank style business pitches to potential "investors" on Friday! They all did a wonderful job with their presentations!
Prize Winners
Congratulations to Daniel Pringle for winning the Q4 PBIS raffle prize of Splash Island tickets! Congratulations to Clayton, Layne, Wyatt, Luke, and Jackson for winning the grand prizes from the PTO's 99 Pledges fundraiser this semester!
8th Grade Luau
Here are some photos of the 8th grade Luau on Friday after school. Thank you to all of the parents who came to help and donated items to help give the 8th graders a fun afternoon at the end of the year!
State of Indiana Launches SUN Bucks
New benefits program aims to ensure students maintain access to healthy foods during the summer
INDIANAPOLIS – The state of Indiana today announced that applications for the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT) program, also known as SUN Bucks, are now open.
SUN Bucks is a new benefits program that provides families a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible school-aged child to help purchase groceries during the summer. This ensures that students continue to have access to healthy meals beyond the school year.
Children are eligible for the program if:
- The household already participates in SNAP, TANF, or income-based Medicaid, or
- The student has been identified as a ward of the state (foster child), homeless, or migrant, or
- The student attends a school that offers the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and the household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals.
The benefits will be provided to eligible families on a separate EBT card and mailed directly to their home. Benefits can be used at authorized retailers, like grocery stores and farmers markets, to purchase healthy foods, such as fruits, vegetables, meats and other protein sources, whole grains and dairy. These benefits are available in addition to free meals that children of all ages can get at SUN Meals sites in their communities.
Most eligible families will receive these benefits automatically and local schools will communicate eligibility to parents and families. Some parents will need to apply. The following households need to complete the online SUN Bucks application:
- Households with children attending a school operating the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), where all meals are free to students, and who have not been notified of automatic SUN Bucks eligibility.
- Households with children attending a school operating NSLP who were not approved for free or reduced meals during the school year.
- Households with children that do not attend a school operating NSLP and who receive SNAP, TANF, certain levels of income-based Medicaid, or are foster, migrant, or homeless.
SUN Bucks is funded by the state of Indiana and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Visit the Indiana SUN Bucks webpage to learn more about this new program and apply today.
