May Newsletter
May 1 2025
Dear Roughrider Families,
As we flip the calendar to May, it’s hard to believe the school year is nearing its end. The final weeks are always a whirlwind—filled with milestones, celebrations, and the excitement that comes with looking ahead to summer.
With just over a few weeks to go, I want to encourage every student and family to stay focused and finish strong. These last four weeks really do matter. Whether it's studying for finals, completing that last big project, or simply showing up each day ready to learn, the effort we put in now helps us finish on a high note. Let’s keep the momentum going and make these last days count.
Outside the classroom, May is also one of our busiest—and most rewarding—months of the year. From concerts and awards nights to spring sports and end-of-year events, there are so many chances to celebrate the talents and achievements of our students. It’s a great time to show support, cheer one another on, and take pride in all we’ve accomplished together.
Take a few moments to browse this month’s newsletter. Inside, you'll find key dates, event reminders, and highlights of the amazing things happening in our school community.
Thanks, as always, for being such a vital part of the Roughrider family.
With appreciation,
Kris Arason, Principal

Boosters Club -Teacher Appreciation Lunch
Dear Red River Families,
As we approach the end of another school year, the Booster Club invites you to again join us to say thank you to our dedicated teachers, administration, and staff. Their commitment and hard work have been unwavering in our successes and achievements throughout the year.
We will be hosting the annual Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, May 7th, as well as supporting daily prize drawings throughout Teacher Appreciation week (May 5-9). This is a just a small token of our appreciation for the big impact they make on our students every day.
If you would like to help support the week, donations can be made directly to Boosters by following the steps on our sign-up genius using the link below. Our Venmo address is also listed if that is more convenient.
Let’s make this a memorable week for those who have given us so much!

Congratulations to the students (and advisors) on your successful ICDC performance. Addy's mom put a wonderful testimonial on Facebook about the positive impact DECA has had on Addy and her encouragement to other parents to get their students involved in the organization. That is a very impressive list of sponsors!!
Amy Beth Lommen: "Addy finished her high school DECA career off this past week at international competition in Orlando. Red River DECA has provided Addy with so many amazing opportunities these past 4 years and opened the door to her career path in business! This trip was extra special as she was recognized on the national stage for winning a scholarship! I can’t say enough positive things about DECA and what it has done for Addison! If you have a high schooler that is questioning being involved in DECA, I would encourage them to go out. They won’t regret it!"
