Congratulations Class of 2024
It is with great pride and joy that I share my heartfelt gratitude in bringing another incredible academic year to a close. It was an amazing journey filled with triumphs, growth, and an unwavering commitment to working together for our students' success.
Congratulations to the remarkable Class of 2024 on reaching this significant life milestone! Your hard work, resilience, and determination helped build a foundation from which to build as you embark on the next chapter. Your achievements are a testament to the power of public education, and I have no doubt that each one of you will go into the world and make a positive impact. Congratulations again on a job well done!
I want to express my sincere appreciation to our School Board of Trustees for their unwavering support. Your dedication to ensuring the success and well-being of our students has been instrumental in our progress. Your vision, commitment, and active engagement have allowed us to expand opportunities, programs, and pathways to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Thank you for your invaluable contributions.
Our teachers are the heart and soul of our educational community. Your unwavering passion, creativity, and dedication is what ignites a love for learning in our students. You have left an indelible mark on each student’s journey through your tireless efforts to inspire, nurture, and mentor. We are so grateful for your commitment to excellence and the countless hours you give to your students and our district. Thank you!
I would like to extend our deep appreciation to our 2024 retirees for their more than 91.5 years of collective service to the district - Ann Tragesser (2nd Grade Teacher, 36.5 years), Christine Nichols (College and Career Counselor, 28 years), and Kim Warner, (German Teacher, 27 years). Your contributions have been invaluable, and we are grateful for your positive impact on our students' lives during your tenure at TCSC. All the best in health and happiness in the next chapter of your lives.
The support and partnership of our parents and community have been instrumental in our success. Your involvement and contributions have enriched the overall educational experience of our students. It truly makes TCSC a cut above the rest. We are grateful for your unwavering support and look forward to continuing this essential collaboration as we work together for student success in the year ahead.
We look forward to welcoming your children back on campus on Friday, August 9, refreshed and ready to embark on another year of growth and discovery. Have a joyful, rejuvenating, and safe summer. #BlueFuture
At our TCSC Employee Banquet in May, teachers and staff were celebrated and retiring personnel honored. Christine Nichols (College and Career Counselor), Ann Tragesser (2nd Grade Teacher), and Kim Warner (German Teacher) who brought a collective 91.5 years of incredible service to the district, said their farewells and are embarking on their retirement journey. Back to School Immunizations
Looking ahead to upcoming school year, as per Indiana State Law, students are required to be up to date with their immunizations (for all grades, but specifically in grades Kindergarten, 6th, and 12th) by the 20th day of school to avoid exclusion on day 21. If you have a student attending Tipton Community School Corporation for the 2024-25 school year, they will need to be current with required vaccinations.
Good news! Our partners at the Tipton County Health Department are offering a vaccine clinic on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. To see if your child is up to date or to schedule an appointment call TCHD at 765-675-8741. Click here to learn more about required and recommended vaccinations in Indiana. For additional questions or information, email Nurse Susie at sragan@tcsc.k12.in.us.
FORE!
In the May 24 issue of Out of the Blue, we incorrectly credited Lancaster Group for donating the SimTec Golf Simulator to Tipton High School. The generous donation was actually made by Lancaster-Holdings. Thank you, Lancaster-Holdings!
Summer School in Full Swing
While the 2023-24 calendar year has ended our summer school program is in full swing. We have 150 students across all building levels taking advantage of the opportunity to expand their learning horizons, earn summer credits, and/or make up for learning loss from the previous academic year. No matter the reason we know the summer learning program can have a positive impact on both academic and social-emotional development, providing structure to student’s summer experiences, and help them stay engaged and focused and better prepared for the year ahead. Summer school ends on June 28.
Keeping Kids Connected & Learning this Summer at TCPL
Keeping Kids Connected & Learning this Summer at TCPL
Whether your student is enrolled in summer school or not, students can continue to learn all
summer long. The Tipton County Public Library (TCPL) is an incredible community resource for
kids to take advantage of during the summer and throughout the academic year. In fact, the
library kicked off its summer reading program on Monday.
After school and summer programming at TCPL is extremely impactful to our students and our
community. It is a welcoming and encouraging environment that engages parents in their
children’s literacy development at every level. It provides a comfortable space for kids to be
curious, study, work on homework, research, and use computers throughout the year. TCPL
works to keep the library and school connected, so kids have the resources they need for
growth and success.
Your library card is your connection to all things at TCPL. Obtaining a library card is a quick and
easy process. Parents simply need to bring in a valid driver’s license and current address
information as part of the application process. Once a card has been approved for the
parent/guardian, a student can be issued a card in their name to open a world of possibilities in
the form of books, videos, games, and much more as a TCPL cardholder.
“I’m so grateful for TCPL and the hard work of their staff to support our students with
educational opportunities, literacy programs, and access to tools to help them thrive,” said Dr.
Ryan Glaze. “Working in collaboration with TCPL enriches students’ learning experiences for
deeper learning beyond the classroom, benefiting everyone involved.”
