Hello River Bend Families!

Happy Friday!

We have been focusing on Mindfulness and the connections between Beliefs--Expectations--Behavior--Results. Caring for our minds can help us feel happy. Caring for our bodies keeps us healthy. We even started our Red Carpet Assembly with a mindful moment.

We are continuing with our ELA nonfiction unit 7 on History, Culture, and Geography. Students have been learning about holidays and celebrations, their communiteis, and lots of historical fiction writing with different points of view.

Next week is going to be really cold. Please be sure students are bundled up for arrival and dismissal. Enjoy the long weekend. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Grandparents raising Grandchildren and their grandchildren are welcome for a meal and presentation by Family Forward about the local Kinship Navigator Program and resources offered by this program that may be beneficial to grandparent.

Girls on the Run is back this spring! This program is for girls in 3rd-5th grade. It begins the week of March 3rd. Practice are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 5:15 at River Bend. The final 5k for our session is May 10! We have a lot of fun and learn a lot about how to rally around each other and grow together. Due to limited spots available, you can register for the team lottery now until February 23. Lottery spots will be pulled February 25th by Girls on the Run STL. Go to gotrstl.org to sign up or call 314-862-6266 to register by phone. Scholarships are available as needed. If you have any questions, please reach out Mrs. Ferguson (4th grade) or Mrs. Gibbons (4th grade).
