FAPS wants to express care and concern for all of our families that have family and friends that attend Michigan State University.

Please know that our SEL team is on call for anyone that needs it. Here is a link to some resources (see below) to our families later today on how to discuss school violence with their children, and to help reinforce the many conversations we've had to have in the last few years.

We are saddened that we continually find ourselves in a situation of heartache. Please keep all involved in your thoughts and prayers and Go, Green!

Mark Your Calendars - Parent/Teacher Conferences for 3rd marking period will be held on Monday, February 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Format will be virtual, with links to sign up below (Please SIGN-UP BY FEBRUARY 26th FOR APPOINTMENT SLOTS).

Please join me in welcoming Kyle McAllister to the AGS Staff. Kyle was recently hired to teach special education at AGS. He student taught at AGS 7 years ago and comes to us from the Waterford School District where he taught for the past 6 years. Kyle lives in Linden and is excited to be a Tiger. He is passionate about education and dedicated to working with his students. Welcome to the AGS Family, Kyle!

Autumn was nominated by counselor Melissa Welsh. She has been a part of the Leadership Council since the beginning of 6th grade. She is constantly thinking about, and implementing ways to make AGS and the Fenton community a better place. Autumn is extremely kind, generous, & hard working. Congratulations Autumn and thank you for helping to make AGS a great place for students!

Mrs. Engel was nominated by several of her colleagues for her passion and enthusiasm for her students. She excels at building relationships and helping her students be successful. Mrs. Engel collaborates with her co-teachers to provide an excellent learning environment. Congratulations Mrs. Engel and thank you for always putting your students first!

Students and staff completed in some intense SRT volleyball games this week! Tiger tickets were drawn from each grade level to determine the student participants that competed against their SRT teachers. Thanks to all the students who played, the others that cheered on their classmates, student helpers, and the teaching staff. It was an awesome event. This event was part of the AGS Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program.

Kennedy Taylor, 5th grade student at Tomek-Eastern Elementary, spent Thursday at AGS and earned the title of Assistant to the Assistant Principal. Last fall, the Taylor family won a “Day with AGS Principals” through the Tomek PTO auction. Kennedy helped setup and keep score for the SRT staff vs student volleyball games, talked to many friendly AGS students about middle school, and had lunch with Mr. Seath. Thanks Kennedy for spending time at AGS you were an awesome help!

Harry Potter Club members - Your student's next meeting on Thursday, 2/23 will include watching part of the Harry Potter 1 movie & a Harry Potter themed potluck. Students received information via announcements & their HP Club Google Classroom. Your student may ask to bring a Harry Potter themed food/beverage, & we will do this during their SRT class & lunch. They will not miss any of their other classes for this meeting.

Leadership Council members - Have been working on & promoting the AGS Kindness Campaign. This includes ways our school community can positively support one another, through random acts of kindness. Our LC members are going to do a presentation, as well as selling bracelets for kindness in the near future (proceeds TBD). Please ask your student for an example of how they've been kind to someone else at their school, OR how someone has been kind to them.

AST is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. AGS Teachers are present and transportation is available for students residing within district. A light snack will also be provided.
