Miners in the Middle
November 10, 2024
Week of November 11th - 16th
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have some exciting updates and reminders to share this week!
First, let’s give a big round of applause to our Middle School Band members for their impressive performances at the District Honor Band Auditions! We’re proud to recognize the following students for their achievements:
- Archer Spears – 1st Chair!
- Isabella Polm
- Noah Ranallo
- Aiden Teague
- Trowa Sander – Alternate
These students represented our school with excellence, and we couldn’t be prouder of them and our dedicated band director, Mrs. Carol Rosso.
On Tuesday, we’ll be conducting our second STAR Benchmark Reading Test. It’s essential that students give their best effort during these benchmarking assessments, as they help us monitor progress just like the end-of-year state test.
This Monday at 9 a.m., we’ll be hosting a Veterans Day Assembly in the Taylor Gym, and we welcome the entire community to join us as we honor and celebrate our veterans. It’s always a meaningful event, and we look forward to showing our appreciation for those who have served.
As we approach the end of the semester, we want to remind everyone that we have about four weeks of instruction remaining before semester exams. Semester exams will account for 20% of the semester grade, so now is a good time to start discussing preparation and study plans with your students.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. We’re looking forward to a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal

HMS Building-Wide Expectations
Classroom Expectations
These are our school-wide expectations for our students. Positive behavior fosters an environment where ALL students can learn and grow. It is our hope that our HMS families will discuss our school-wide behavior expectations and encourage positive behaviors at school and home.
Common Areas Expectations
Our school-wide expectations extend beyond the classroom. It is important that students also realize they are accountable for their behaviors in the hallway, cafeteria and at all school sponsored activities on and off campus.
