St. Paul's Trumpet
November 28, 2024
“Generations of disciples, reflecting God’s love, to our community and the world.”
Dear Friends,
“Thanksgiving is inseparable from true prayer; it is almost essentially connected with it. One who always prays is ever giving praise, whether in ease or pain, both for prosperity and for the greatest adversity. He blesses God for all things, looks on them as coming from Him, and receives them for His sake - not choosing nor refusing, liking or disliking anything, but only as it is agreeable or disagreeable to His perfect will.” - John Wesley
This Thanksgiving take the time to pray. Pray with a grateful heart. Pray to offer praise to God for life and for loved ones. Pray for God to lead you in the path of God’s choosing.
People have been so deeply affected this year by disasters and violence in our world. Pray for healing and work that must be done to restore lives and property. Pray to help people who are hurting. Pray so that the prayers are not words only, but action.
God provides us with true blessings in abundance. We have joy and laughter; we have courage in the face of fear, hope where there is doubt, comfort when we have tears and sadness. God is with us in all things. John Wesley believed in the love and blessings of God. Even on his death bed, he said, “Best of all, God is with us.
Pray for our community as we seek to strengthen and grow in Christ. Pray for all the people who serve and provide the financial resources for ministry to take place. Pray for our church as we continue to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Thanksgiving is inseparable from true prayer. Give thanks to the Lord always with a grateful heart. I am thankful for you and our church. I am thankful for all that God is doing among us as we pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to lead us into the future.
Blessings,
Pastor Chad

Fall Food Drive
Support Pearl Food Pantry and families this holiday season by donating non-perishable holiday foods or donating $20 for Turkey/Meat Vouchers so families can choose their main course for upcoming family gatherings.

Ways to Give at St. Paul's UMC
Your financial gifts help sustain the mission and ministry of our congregation as we "reflect the love of God to our community and the world!" There are several different ways that you can give to St. Paul's, the details are below, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have along the way.
1. Online Giving – This is a safe and convenient way to support St. Paul's with either a one-time or recurring gift. Click here to set up your account, and if you need assistance, contact our St. Paul's Treasurer, Cindy Balentine.
2. Cash or Check –On Sundays during worship, you can place your cash or check in the offering plates or offering box. There are offering envelopes in each pew and in the back of the Chapel so that you can designate your gift. Checks should be made out to "St. Paul's United Methodist Church" and designations can also be noted on the memo line. You can also mail your gifts to St. Paul's at 324 S. Jackson Street, Papillion, NE 68046.
3. Automated Bank Withdrawals –This form of giving allows your bank to withdraw money directly from your designated account and transfer it to St. Paul's UMC. There are no fees involved and it's as simple as filling out a form -- contact the Church Office or St. Paul's Treasurer, Cindy Balentine to get started!
4. IRA Distribution or Savings giving –This is another wonderful way to help sustain the ministry of St. Paul's UMC. It requires you to work with your bank or broker to determine the details, but you can also contact our St. Paul's Treasurer, Cindy Balentine, to get an outline of this process.
Every gift helps make a difference -- thank you for your generous support of St. Paul's United Methodist Church!
